Louise (Jan) Janet Pearson (Kohl)

Hello, my name is Janna and I am trying to raise funds to cover end-of-life expenses of my grandmother, (Jan) Louise Janet Pearson (Kohl). She and my grandfather Gary Pearson had the most amazing love story of 62 years! They met in high school out in California, Gary being a football star, and Jan, a beauty queen. They were married on July 21, 1962 and started a family, and had two children, Herb and Tracy. Both Gary and Jan helped start a Christian School out in California.

They moved their little family to Gary’s family home in Pitkin, Colorado, elevation 9242 feet, on July 7, 1977. Gary started a real estate company, Good News Realty, and Jan was a homemaker and occasionally worked at the local post office. Over the years Gary worked many different jobs including selling Book of Life and traveling to all 50 states sharing the Word of God.

Jan was the picture perfect wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Always taking care of her family and friends. Jan became ill in the late 90’s when she suffered from a stroke and her health started declining. She was placed on oxygen 24/7. They moved from their family home on July 7, 2010, due to Jan’s health problems and her need to be living at a lower elevation. Jan overcame breast cancer, and was always so strong. Over the years Jan’s health took more of a toll and Gary was her full-time health provider, unable to work much as taking care of his wife was his top priority. Jan suffered also from pulmonary hypertension, had two heart stents and a new heart valve. She went home to be with Jesus on June 30, 2023. Gary and Jan had such a strong love for each other and Gary wants to be able to place a nice headstone on her grave in the Gunnison, Colorado, cemetery.
