LoungeAid June 2024.

Hey everybody! At Lounges, We are dedicated to giving back to our community. Every year we create the opportunity to raise money for a local charity chosen by every lounge. This is something we like to call ‘LoungeAid’

Here at Verraco Lounge, we have chosen to raise money for the charity Carers Careline. Here’s a little more information on the charity. 

Carers Careline have been working in our local community for over 36 years. Their organisation’s overall aim is to promote the health, mental and emotional wellbeing of unpaid, informal adult carers in Redditch. Carers Careline offer a range of services to Engage, Enrich, Empower and Enable carers and ‘life after’ carers including regular pro-active telephone support calls, a drop-in facility, monthly support groups, activities and trips, a funded counselling service and bereavement group support for the loss of a loved one. 

The charity has a special place for our GM Tim, who used this service whilst his mum had fallen ill and unfortunately passed away. Two members of our Front of House team, Ashleigh and Lily, also have used services similar to this when their mum had a stroke in 2020. 

We want to be able to make that difference within our community so that there are more opportunities available for the unpaid carers in our communities, as well as the support and resources that they can access is up to the highest standards they can be.
