Lou’s New Leg Fundraiser
Donation protected
Its been over 2 decades now since I lost my leg, but I gained my life!
I was born with a very, very rare genetic condition , the only one in the UK with a rare gene which meant I couldn’t put my foot flat on the floor.
With my condition I had to undergo so many operations I just couldn’t walk any more, so opted for amputation at the age of 19.
It was that or life in a wheelchair.
I was so scared but I conquered my fear and had the amputation.
It’s not been easy over the last 20 years, facing multiple legs, sores, phantom pains, frustration and weight gain.
I have overcome one HUGE hurdle, my weight.
Its not been easy to exercise as my leg hurts but I try hard to do what I can.
Due to my weight loss I can now have a wonderful new leg as I’ve dropped from a size 24 to a 10.
I will be forever grateful to those who have and continue to help me on my journey.
I currently walk on an artificial prosthetic leg as I’m a below knee amputee.
The leg I have restricts me in lots of ways so I am raising funds to buy a leg of my own where I can have toes, walk in flip flops, learn to run and that fits me better.
I can’t wait to walk on my very own new leg and will be forever grateful to those who are helping me to achieve this huge goal .. .. to look down at 10 toes is just a dream.
I feel I can achieve this dream with the help of many friends along the way who wish to kindly donate to my leg fundraiser.
The goal is to raise £15,805.
This is the price on the invoice.
Any donation I’m truly grateful for.
Please give what you can to help me
