Love & Support Ugandan Children

Donation protected
Hi, friends!!

On May 27th, 2018 we are headed back to UGANDA in East Africa for just over a month! We love Uganda - the people, the culture, the language, the scenery, and most of all, the love, hope, and encouragement we get to spread while we are there. This will be Riley's 4th trip and Cheyenne's 2nd... it's hard to stay away! On top of that, Uganda definitely puts Riley: Future Special Education Teacher and Cheyenne: Future Doctor of Physical Therapy to great use.

Last year, we dewormed 300 children, gave out bananas, pencils, and tooth brushes to an entire primary school, bought backpacks and school supplies for 4 young boys, paid for national assessments for 22 7th graders, fed 300 students a hot meal 5 days in a row, fed and clothed 7 street boys every night for 2 weeks, rescued an abandoned puppy, took a 3rd grade class on a field trip, got malaria treatment for an 8-year-old girl, paid 2 months of rent for 2 struggling families, bought 2 months worth of food for a family of 4, donated 50 pounds of baby clothes, bought new dresses, and grocery shopped for 5 teen mothers who are rape victims, donated play dough to a special needs classroom, got 2 school children sponsored, gifted a family of 7 with a cow, donated a much needed bed to an orphanage, donated a device to allow a 6-year-old with hydrocephalus to take his very first steps, surprised 53 orphans with cookies and juice, taught lessons in 1st through 7th grade classrooms, and gave out a million hugs, kisses, and I love you's.

We spend the majority of our time in Uganda volunteering at a primary school (pre-school through 7th grade) and at a home for orphaned children with multiple disabilities, but other opportunities come up all the time.  Seeing as we have had many friends, family members, acquaintances, and other community members mention wanting to help in someway, we thought a GoFundMe to be very fitting not only for the accessibility, but also so donors can easily let us know if there is something specific they want their money to go toward.

This year, our goal is to raise $2,000. Some things we have in mind for this trip are below:

Another upsee (a device to help children with severe disabilities
walk): $500
Take another 3rd grade class on a field trip and for lunch (most likely the first time they will have ever left their village): $200
Get as many children vaccinated against typhoid as possible: $20 per vaccination
Rent for struggling families: between $25-$35 a month
Bring supplies for special needs students to enhance their gross motor and fine motor skills: $500
Go clothing and grocery shopping for teen mothers who are rape victims: $100
Supplies for classroom lessons: $200
A cow to support a family: between $300 and $500

Let us know if there is anything specific you would like to donate towards.

We are SO excited, and so extremely thankful to have the opportunity to go back to Uganda once again. We'll keep you updated!

Thank you in advance~

Love,
Riley & Cheyenne
