Love and help for Kimberly Emanuel
Donation protected
Not all of us have the honor or blessing to have dear friends that hold us close for many years. I have been blessed with one such friend and her name is Kimberly Emanuel. We met as first and second-year teachers when we were put on the same middle school team 25 years ago.
Kimberly is a woman with a love for life, strong faith in God, faith in herself, and undying love for all of her friends and students. She is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. If you look up the five traits of a Godly Woman, Kimberly is described to perfection. She is also one of the most amazing and creative teachers I have ever had the honor of knowing. Her love for her family, friends, and students is second to none.
Over the course of the 26 years in the middle school and high classroom, I know that Kimberly has touched the lives of thousands of students and their families. She has always been a no-nonsense teacher that expected the best from her students and they loved her for it. I am sure some former students could tell us a few stories, too!
Well, now Kimberly, and her wonderful husband, Chaun, need our help and love. In early January 2021, Kimberly got sick and then entered the hospital with a severe infection that almost took our sweet friend away from us. She spent time in the ICU as the doctors and nurses successfully fought to save her life. After two weeks in ICU, she was able to be moved to a regular room and then to rehab. She is now home and still working with her rehabilitation and unable to work. (Note: This was not COVID related.) In April, she lost both feet and both hands due to complications from her illness.
As we can all imagine, the medical bills are off the proverbial charts and Kimberly is still on leave from work. We have no idea when she will be ready to go back to the school to be with her students.
I would like to ask for your help for Kimberly and Chaun. Actually, I would love to ask for two things!
1. Please donate to help Kimberly and Chaun with the accrued medical bills. Any donation would be greatly appreciated! As we know, many small donations add up to a lot! If you can donate $5, $50, $500, it does not matter. We are grateful for any help you are able to offer.
2. If you have a story to share about how Kimberly has touched your life, please share that too! While she may not be able to be with us now, she needs to know what we are thinking about her and how she has touched our lives! Sometimes, this is the best medicine!
Thank you for your time and help. We are all blessed to have someone like Kimberly in our lives. Please share this on Facebook or any other social media platform possible. We would like to reach as many friends and former students that we can. As a village, we can help Kimberly and Chaun!
Love and friendship,
Jill Liberatore
