Loving medical support for the Hughes family

If you’ve had the pleasure of knowing Holden Hughes, you know that he is as strong-willed and genuine as they come. His passion and love of the natural world are only exceeded by his love and devotion to his 8-year-old son, Sawyer. Holden is a loving husband and a true friend to so many. He is considered one of the premier bird-hunting and fly-fishing guides in the Montana region – not only for his ability to create a beautiful, unique experience for his clients but also for his youthful spirit, infinite knowledge of the land, and reverence for the divinity of nature.
Two weeks ago, Holden was severely injured on the right side of his face. He was transported by Care-Flight to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Clinic- Trauma and Burn Center in Idaho Falls. Tragically, the trauma surgeons were not able to save his right eye. During the extensive surgery, they repaired the fractures to his right eye socket and reconstructed the skin in that area. He spent 11 days in the Trauma and Burn Center where he spent countless hours in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber to help him heal. Holden received the best of care from the fine doctors and nurses at EIRMC. He will continue his treatment at EIRMC Trauma and Burn Center for the months to come.
Holden is now back home in Livingston, MT where he is peacefully healing. He has a long road ahead of him, but he is a survivor. There is no doubt that his motivation to continue sharing the beauty of the outdoors with his clients, family and friends will be his driving force to recovery.
