When there are No Words, but Life Goes on: Let’s support Monica
As we grieve with Monica Agosta as a community, we find ourselves wanting to “DO” something, anything, to fix it, to undo it, to ease the pain, to make it all ok again. Many of you have asked "what can we do to help?" As she begins to navigate from the early stages of grief to figuring out her way forward, we are hoping Monica can take the time and the space needed to heal, cope, move (again), and consider her options. There are a surprising number of expenses, and we just want to take financial pressures off of Monica as she navigates this incredibly sad and difficult time. We would love to pave the way for her to step away from work long enough to figure out which way is up without worrying about how she is going to pay the rent or bills. We decided financial contributions might make more sense for Monica than food donations. Any amount is welcomed, even just covering the cost of a meal would be a lovely kindness, and this way she can have it when it is needed.
Although Monica lives far away from home without any family in town to support her through this for the long term, she is incredibly blessed and grateful to the supportive community she has built over the last 19+ years through living in Braes Heights, her kids’ school and work communities and through her work at MDA. She will need her community to support her through the coming months as the “crisis” phase wears off and she adjusts to her new normal. Please keep her at the front of your mind as time moves forward.
Note: We are not posting this on social media but are sharing it with those who reach out and ask how they can best help Monica
