Love and Support for Ted Daw and Family
Donation protected
My name is Natoshua Schauffler and I am a dear friend of the Daw Family. On Wednesday August 9, 2023, the Daw family was struck by tragedy. Ted was a passenger in a high speed motor vehicle accident that struck a tree. The accident was severe and Ted was taken to the emergency room and has since been in the ICU with critical injuries.
Included in the list of initial injuries:
-Multiple left leg fractures, including his hip, femur, and foot..
-A damaged thoracic aorta, which was repaired in the ER.
-Multiple broken ribs as well as neck and spine fractures.
-Lastly, his biggest hurdle includes his traumatic brain injury, as well as multiple facial fractures.
One thing we know about Ted is that he is a fighter… and he is fighting very hard through this process.
On Friday, August 25 Ted was flown up to Legacy Emanuel hospital in Portland to receive higher level care.
Upon arrival and intake at Legacy Emanuel, some new information was received due to his traumatic brain injuries and some complications with his arteries, Ted had suffered a bilateral stroke.
Since his arrival, Ted has received a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. He has also received surgery on his left leg and foot.
Ted is strong and young and has the spirit of a true marine! He is fighting very hard and pushing forward every day!
Extremely large medical bills have been accruing over the past 3 weeks and Wendy, the girls and family will be making lots of trips up to Portland to keep a continuous chain of people at his bedside on a regular basis. We know that one of the most important parts of recovery is having your people by your side!
I would like to ask for support for Ted, Wendy, Madison, Paige and Olivia during this time of tragedy for the Daw family. This family would never ask for a thing but are in desperate need of love, prayers, and monetary support during this time. Please consider helping support the Daw family during their time of need.
Thank you,
