Love and Support in memory of Sean McGowan

Heidi McGowan and I have been friends for almost 15 years. When I started my nursing career at LAH, I "brought" Heidi with me from our previous work family; and she has been such a blessing as a friend, "sister", and co-worker to so many. She, her husband Sean, and their children Ari and Gabe exemplify what is means to be true friends and family.

Heidi's husband, Sean, was laid off from his job during the height of COVID last year. He has suffered many health issues with his heart and kidneys during the past year. Within the past couple of months, Sean has suffered significant issues due to heart failure, and at such a young age. His heart has stopped or gone into a lethal rhythm a few times in the past couple of months; resulting in his defibrillator triggering or medications to be used to keep his heart pumping.

As of today (2/25/21), Sean is at University Hospital. Several tests are being run to determine his eligibility for a heart transplant while admitted there. He went into a lethal rhythm and was unresponsive just this morning, being stabilized with medications.

Right now, Heidi is the only financial and insurance carrier for the family. To relieve the financial stresses (mortgage, hospital bills,etc) and assist with offsetting the costs of missing work; to afford Heidi and their two children time to spend with Sean, this GoFundMe is being set up.
