Hello Everyone,
Bellah, as everyone knows, is an outgoing girl! Recently these past few months Bellah has had some issues. Yesterday 7/13/23 Bellah went in for an MRI of her brain. The news we got was devastating. They found out that Bellah has a brain tumor. Natalie (her mom) took her to Fort Wayne hospital, they didn’t have the help Bellah needed. So she got sent to Riley Children’s Hospital at 11pm last night! Bellah has to have a drain tube put in today and brain surgery early next week. Natalie is going to need any help she can get with being off of work and having to stay here full time with Bellah. This is going to be a very lengthy process for her. She also has 4 other kids at home that are being taken care of! Please if anyone can help with anything let us know! Thank you everyone!
Bellah's journey
I'm sure there are some that have been looking for an update on Ms Bellah. We've spent some time talking with our family and giving time for taking everything in. So now we share our news.
The day Bellah had her tumor removed, they did an MRI to assure the tumor was completely removed. Thankfully, the tumor had been removed entirely, and the cyst surrounding it was deflated. Unfortunately... the MRI revealed more than we had ever expected!
Beneath the cyst, there was another tumor, and also two more in the frontal part of Bellah's brain. (So yes, total of 3.) These tumors did not "light up" the way the initial one did, which is why they were overlooked initially. (The initial tumor was very bright!) The two tumors in front are small, about 1 cm each, the one in the back of the head is by her brain stem, which is a very fragile area. So, with this information, the doctors made a plan.
When we go back for her two week visit, we will be setting up to receive chemo. (They don't want to go in and do multiple surgeries.) So this is her best course of action. As we all know, or have seen, chemo can be so hard on the body. We have decided to do home school for her and keep things as simple as possible. There will be weekly hospital visits, and it will all be too much to bear to put school in the mix.
She knows everything that is going on, and I talk with her about, and through, it all. I don't think I have ever met anyone as strong as she is. I am so unbelievably proud of her. She is a fighter for sure!
Bellah and my mom will be needing any help they can get. Chemo is a long process and a longer term process. Bellah is fighting through everything and this will not be the thing to take her down! She will yet again fight through this.. but it will take awhile and she will come out better than ever please share bellahs story, share this go fund me. We are #bellahstrong❤️
