Love for Leigha and Gavin
Donation protected
Most crowd funding stories are of tragedy and hurt, but this is a story of love and acceptance. Josh and Lindsay were married in 2011 and have three children between them. Each brought one to their marriage, and they have a daughter together. They are the type of couple that will not only be the first to offer help to family and friends, but even strangers. They give their time, energy, labor, and love to anyone in need.
Years ago the couple decided they needed to complete their respective educations to achieve better financial security for their family’s future. Josh attended and graduated from Ranken College in 2014 and has been employed at a local car dealership since 2010. Lindsay’s dream of a nursing career was put on hold until the new baby started kindergarten.
In August 2016, Lindsay began Community College for the prerequisites, and begins nursing school on August 20th, 2018.
In December 2016, Josh and Lindsay learned that Josh's son's two half-siblings, Gavin and Leigha, were bouncing around temporary homes and ultimately were going to be put into the foster care system. In true Josh and Lindsay fashion, they jumped in feet first to get legal guardianship of both kids. There was no promise of a forever home for Gavin and Leigha under the other options and making sure Josh's son grew up knowing his half siblings was very important to them. Josh and Lindsay knew it was going to be a struggle, both financially and emotionally, but were determined to make it work for the benefit of the kids. Today they are caring full-time for all five children, Courtney 11, Matthew 10, Gavin 7, Leigha 6, and Kiersten 5. All of them share a stable, albeit small, home filled with stability, love, support, and occasional tears.
The family is currently renting, but have a dream to own their home soon.
Josh and Lindsay have accepted Gavin and Leigha into their home, with unconditional love. Our goal is to provide Josh and Lindsay some financial relief, so Lindsay can stay focused on nursing school, and the kids can be surrounded by love and support from Josh and Lindsay and from the teachers and counselors at the school they’ve grown to love. No donation is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated. All funds will go towards care for the children.
