Love for Liyana—Help to Shaik it Off

As a teacher, I find myself blessed to have the opportunity to learn how to see the world through the eyes of an 8 year old. This year, I have taught one of the coolest little girls. One that is so full of grace and kindness. One who loves learning and never stops smiling. I’m happy to share her story with you.
Liyana was diagnosed with Acute Lupus on November 10th at MUSC. Liyana went to two other hospitals before being diagnosed at MUSC. Liyana spent 12 days in the Children’s ICU and was moved to a room on November 20th. Liyana will be receiving chemo treatment and will be on her way to making a speedy recovery. Although Lupus never goes away, I am ready to see that beautiful girl with that sweet smile back in my classroom.
As we all imagine, hospital stays are very expensive. Due to the fact that this sweet baby has been in the hospital for 23 days and counting, I have high hopes that we can help a sweet family with some of the medical expenses. If you are unable to help financially, please remember the family in your prayers. I know they would be extremely grateful and are in need of peace and comfort during this time.
