Help the KGH healthcare professionals, our heroes, who continue to prepare and fight against COVID-19 through the support of local restaurants.
Every donation received will go towards the purchase of a gift card from a local restaurant for a KGH professional.
About Britt & Dani
Once a teammate always a teammate. We first met playing volleyball for the Canadian Women’s National Team and recently have found ourselves both back in Kelowna. Wanting to help this special community in a safe way we have come up with a fundraising campaign and named it ‘Love For Local’.
Mission
Having nurses in both our families we created the Love For Local initiative in Kelowna to show our appreciation for the frontline medical professionals facing COVID-19. For two women who have spent the better part of our lives travelling around the world playing professional volleyball, Kelowna has never felt more like home. We want to give back to a community that has given us and our families so much energy and joy. Local business owners are often the first to be asked to donate, first to step up, and the first to contribute to community projects. We feel it is our turn to rally around them in their most trying times. Our hope is that both the KGH healthcare professionals and local restaurants feel the love that we know Kelowna has to give. We understand what a difficult time this is for everyone financially and only ask those who are comfortable and able to contribute to consider doing so. There is no minimum amount in this cause and every bit will help!
Vision
Through our diverse platform we hope that this is only the beginning with this campaign. We have teammates and connections dotted all over Canada through volleyball and beyond. Our dream would be to grow Love For Local and continue fundraising in cities across the country!
