Love for Mia, In Memory of Kari Simonson
Donation protected
On September 10 Kari Simonson lost a long battle with Covid-19. As a family nurse practitioner, Kari dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She had a smile that would light up a room and offered that light to many, especially her daughter, Mia. Unfortunately at 50, Kari never dreamed she and Mia would not have many more years of experiencing life together, enjoying the milestones of Mia’s senior year…prom, graduation…through college and beyond. So at 17, Mia is now left an orphan, without her mother’s light and without the financial support and security she thought would lie ahead.
While Mia will live with close family through her senior year, and have the support of her incredible grandparents, two aunts and cousins, they are all grieving together. Her path to healing and the future future are unclear at this time. This fund, managed by her aunt Kristy Losapio (since Mia is a minor), will help allow Mia the time to heal, pay for college expenses, and possibly other incidentals like car payments, insurance, and other things that may pop up throughout her senior year. Mia has a very long road of recovery ahead, while navigating life without her greatest supporter. I know that with the support of the community we can help ease some of the burdens Mia will face.
Kari, you are loved and missed by so many.
