Love for the Jones "Quads"

Chelsey's and Reise's lives first changed in October of 2017 when they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, whom they named Charlie. Needless to say she's been the light of their lives, and naturally convinced both Chelsey and Reise to want to further add to their family.

Sadly Chelsey was diagnosed with Graves' Disease in 2019 and placed on medications to better manage this diagnosis. Despite it's complications she and Reise began actively trying for baby in January of 2020. In the coming months she had to undergo a thyroid aspiration to test numerous abnormally large nodules on her thyroid. Thankfully the biopsy ruled out any cancerous cells. Chelsey then continued her strenuous journey, which led to her being diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) in mid 2020. This partnered with Graves' Disease caused severe reproductive and fertility issues.

After a year of actively trying, coupled with medications and injections, they were still unable to conceive. It was in January 2021 that their fertility doctor suggested IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) since Reise was going to be out of the state for work right in the middle of the cycle, which would mean that month of medication & injections would be a lost cause.

IUI (different from IVF) only gives approximately a 10%-20% chance of getting pregnant per cycle, and the chances can increase with each additional cycle. IUI can be a tedious process as it requires insemination to occur within a potentially very small window. Chelsey received her first IUI injection on January 18th, 2021. Then began the painstaking waiting game.

After a very lengthy physical and mental journey, they were overjoyed to learn on February 3rd that the IUI process was a success! Baby Jones was working on making his/her official debut in October, 2021! Conveniently near Charlie's and Reise's birthdays!

On February 23rd Chelsey went in for her first ultrasound, and unfortunately due to Covid restrictions Reise was unable to be present. This became the day that their lives changed forever. After exchanged looks between the ultrasound technician and the doctor, Chelsey received the overwhelming news that Baby Jones was present but was sharing the womb with 3 MORE siblings! The Jones baby was in fact the Jones Quads!!!!
Astonishingly only 0.5% - 2.5% of IUI cycles actually result in twins or triplets. The chances of conceiving quadruplets are approximately 1 in 571,787.

With having multiples there are many potential risks that come with it, but all risks that Chelsey and Reise are willing to face for these babies. Chelsey will be lucky to carry the Quads past 30-31 weeks, which will inevitably result in an unknown duration of time in the NICU. As you can imagine, the costs associated with four babies in the NICU will be extensive. The family will be down to one income since Chelsey will need to quit her job in order to raise the quads & Charlie until they are school age, as childcare for 5 children is impossibly expensive.

I believe I speak for not only myself when I say that I am over the moon for this family, and want to help them with this tremendous and unpredictable journey they are about to encounter. That is why I am sharing their story, in hopes that those who may (or may not) know this beautiful family will join me in supporting them.

Thank you in advance for your love and support, and for sharing their story as Chelsey, Reise and Charlie prepare for this incredible journey.
