Love for the Joos

Friends of the Joos, it is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Sam Joo, who was a beloved husband, devoted son, exceptional father, and passionate school principal who embodied selfless leadership: a true beacon of love and genuine friendship in countless communities.
On December 29, 2024, Sam Joo tragically passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest. He was 51 years old, a precious life gone before anyone could say farewell. This loss is heartbreaking and very hard to bear for all of us, especially his wife, Andrea, the children, and close family.
Sam brought life and fun to everyone he met with his unconditional love, wacky humor, compassion, wisdom, joy, and unrelenting strength. With every word, funny quip, casual conversation, or hours of counsel, Sam was a brother to everyone and above all, a servant of God. He lived his life with unwavering faith, humble recognition of sin, and a servant’s heart. He truly loved the Lord and knew that he was loved by God. In his recent Christmas letter to his family, which has now become a keepsake of his last words, Sam encouraged his family to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)
Sam now leaves behind his loving wife, Andrea, and two beautiful daughters, Joey and Abby. He deeply cherished his wife, and he was the best father to his girls and loved them fiercely. Sam dedicated his life to teaching them the values of love, courage, and resilience. His lessons were not just spoken, but lived, setting an example for them to follow for the rest of their lives.
How Your Contribution Helps
Join us in supporting the Joos. While we cannot fill the void Sam leaves behind, we can help alleviate some of the financial burdens his family is facing with his sudden departure. This campaign will go directly toward meeting unexpected financial obligations as they navigate through this painful loss.
Our Goal
Our goal is not about a specific amount—it’s about the power of community and how each contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a difference. Your support will allow Andrea, Joey, and Abby to focus on the things that matter most during this time—carrying on Sam’s legacy and living the best life they can every day in his honor.
What You Can Do
If Sam had the chance to do one last thing, it would be to provide security for his family. Sam has given us all so much that we naturally feel compelled to do something in return. This is an opportunity for us to help him care for his loved ones in his absence. With each contribution, we can support what mattered most to him—his family. Your generosity will make a huge impact and any amount would mean so much to the entire Joo family.
Please consider contributing and sharing this campaign with others who want to honor Sam’s memory. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.
