Love Gift for George and Mary Beth Bowling

Donation protected
George and Mary Beth Bowling have served at Camp Brookwoods and Camp Deer Run for over 30 years, and many of us have fond memories of them on an Allagash or Chibougamau trip, singing around a campfire, or laughing during the Miss Deer Run pageant. Recently, they decided that this would be their last full summer serving at camp and have been making plans to retire and transition out of their long-term roles.

After enjoying a day off on July 28th, they were struck by another vehicle, sending both Mary Beth and George to the hospital for emergency treatment. Mary Beth’s injuries sent her to the ICU, and have required several surgeries. She will be facing weeks of rehabilitation before she returns to full health and mobility. George was taken to another hospital for treatment and has since been released. He has a follow-up surgery scheduled for the near future.

We know George and Mary Beth do not want or expect any monetary reward for their years of service, and are humbled by the outpouring of love and well-wishes they have received after their accident. Please know that your prayers and well-wishes are enough for them. However, many people have asked about their needs. In an effort to support them tangibly and share our love for them, friends have gathered together to create this fund to help with medical expenses and equip them to move forward into retirement. All gifts will go directly to George and Mary Beth to supply their needs and bless them in their future plans. We are also inviting church and local friends, family, and others with connections to the Bowlings to use this site as a way to share your love for them. At some point in the future we will celebrate their lives and years of service, but right now this is a practical way to support them as they deal with unforeseen expenses.
