Love Gorgie farm goes fire walking on Halloween
Do you want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money in aid of Love Gorgie farm (Love Learning Scotland SCIO), and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to us.
LOVE group took over Love Gorgie farm in November 2019 and opened our doors in February 2020- only for the Coronavirus to stop us in our tracks ☹. When the farm closed, we created a food bank that has delivered 5000 food parcels to date and is now a permanent resource at the farm for the Edinburgh community. We also run outdoor educational groups for children with additional support needs five days a week and have Earth school on the farm to encourage outdoor learning and educate people about the benefits of outdoor education to physical health and mental wellbeing. We remain free entry and affordable to all regardless of income and offer 70 -80 volunteer roles each year.
The farm has nearly 200 animals that we care for each day- from Alpaca's, black nose sheep, birds, and reptiles to small fluffies. All are adored by the public and cared for each day by the staff team. We are going from strength to strength, but to provide all these essential services and support the cost of caring for our beautiful animals, we have chosen to do a fire walk fundraiser. This will also coincide with our 40th Birthday celebrations -yes, the farm is 40 years old this year!!!! wow :)
