Love Is Boss - Let's Help in Honduras

The guy in the glasses? That's Miguel. The baby is his Honduran granddaughter. In June 2003 he retired from teaching and moved from Saint Louis, MO to Las Vegas, Honduras to spend his life among people living in poverty and to help as much as he could. Once aspiring to be a Jesuit priest, Miguel relies on his small monthly pension for his own expenses and to build houses, pay school fees, help people get access to medical care, celebrate birthdays, and address many of the emergencies of poverty.

I got involved because he's my teacher. Has been since a high school Shakespeare class and always will be. These days I'm a rabbi and Jewish educator.

This GoFundMe helps support our neighbors, Miguel's community in Las Vegas, Honduras and those nearby. In poverty, teaches Miguel, everything is an emergency. Food for breakfast, medical care after an accident, running water, routine pregnancy and reproductive care, the diapers that prevent crawling babies from getting parasites, school supplies, feminine hygiene products, a roof, a meal with protein, treating dengue fever . . . the list is so long.  

We help families in this community remain intact, we help grown children find opportunities near home, and we celebrate birthdays, every year, in the community that gave, and continues to give, them life.

It doesn't get more direct than this. No overhead. No employees. No office expenses. 

I cover the GoFundMe fees so every cent from you goes through me to Miguel and then to people living in poverty in Honduras. 

We've done amazing things together.
