"Shining Light for Melissa: Joy, Happiness and Well Being"

Our dear friend, Melissa Samson Rainone is a vibrant 39-year-old mother facing an unimaginable challenge. She has two wonderful children: her 15-year-old daughter, Vanessa, and her 15-year-old son, Jr., whom she has lovingly cared for since he was just 5 years old. Jr. is the son of her husband, Anthony Rainone and Melissa has embraced him as her own.

On October 8, 2024, Melissa was diagnosed with colon cancer, a devastating turn of events that has profoundly impacted her life and the lives of those who love her. Following her diagnosis, she underwent surgery on October 24, 2024, during which 60% of her colon was removed, and a tumor was excised from her bladder. Unfortunately, the surgery revealed that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, lungs, soft tissue, and abdomen.

On November 6, 2024, Melissa received a terminal diagnosis of stage 4 advanced colon cancer. Despite this grim news, she has been given a life expectancy of approximately 2.5 years with treatment, provided it is successful. Melissa will begin chemotherapy every two weeks for six months, a challenging journey that we know she will face with the strength and resilience that define her.

As we rally around Melissa during this difficult time, we are also confronted with the financial burdens that accompany her illness. With no life insurance and her inability to work due to her condition, we are seeking support to help alleviate some of these pressures. The costs of natural treatments are significant, estimated at $260 per week, and we are also concerned about future funeral expenses.
