Love on the Webb Family
On October 24, 2020, Summer, Jesse, Ireland, and Mason Webb moved into their dream home. For years they’d been renting from others, always dreaming of a home of their own, but never having the means.
On October 25, 2020, they found mold on the kitchen ceiling. There was trauma
from mold in their past. An apartment with a negligent landlord that caused
life long lung problems in the family. They immediately called for help and a mold
test. It yielded nightmarish results: 95% aspergillosis (black mold) and four other
types of mold in Ireland’s bedroom, in the crawl space, attic, Mason's room and in the kitchen/ living room. None of this was disclosed to the family in the
inspection. Nothing disclosed by the sellers. But it was quickly becoming clear the Webb’s had been sold a lemon.
The entire family was devastated.
They moved into a hotel praying that it would be an easy and affordable fix.
Fast forward to November 1, 2020. A restoration company reported black mold
in the attic, crawl space, laundry room, throughout the insulation... AND...this
restoration company has been to this house before.
The Webbs fall into despair. This home was their dream. Surely there would be legal action they could take? But there isn’t as the laws do not go after mold
properly. The insurance adjuster comes and the words from his mouth state
“They really duped them and as first time home buyers that is really sad”
Nothing will be covered. The sellers managed to sell a total lemon home. They hid things. They lied... and the Webbs' have been in an hotel since the end of October. No home to call their own. Moving every few weeks, with a teenager and a
toddler in tow. No privacy. And no end in site.
They need your help.
On November 13, 2020 they were given an estimate of $20,000 just to make the home habitable from mold.
On November 30, 2020 their home insurance tells them their policy will be cancelled due to all of this.
With a slew of other things that have shown up (such as the stairs pulling away
from the wall, the roof now leaking in Masons room which has tacked on another 15k) This is an insane amount of money for any American family. Tack on the
pandemic. Tack on the trauma. None of this includes the expenses of the hotels,
extended gas, hotel groceries and more they have added on to the mortgage they are paying on a house they don't live in.
This family deserves as much as you can spare. Please help the Webbs' rid this
home of mold and get their lives back on track!
