Love & Support for Nickolas Jonathan Dixon
Hi there! My name is Tracy. If you’ve landed on this page it’s likely because you have been following social media posts regarding Nick and his battle with Covid-19 and Pneumonia for the past several weeks.
Nick was admitted to the ICU at UT Southwestern (Clements) Dallas two weeks ago with severe Covid-19 and pneumonia. That was the just the start of the fight of his life. His body formed a blood clot, and he had a heart attack about a week into his hospitalization. To prevent further damage, a stent was placed, and they were able to clear out most of the clot, leaving only a small amount that will hopefully be absorbed by his body naturally. He is now intubated and placed in a medically induced coma. His lungs are struggling and the virus has run a devastating course in his body. He currently has an infection that is preventing the doctors from completing the necessary CT scans and the use of an ECMO machine to help filter his lungs. We are all praying that this infection will clear, so that he can receive the treatment needed to fully recover!
Many have asked for ways they can help Nick, and while we all wish there was more we could do, we do know he has a very long and expensive road ahead of him. This GoFundMe was set up as a way to help support Nick, by easing the financial burdens of medical expenses, lost income, recovery and future expenses.
Thank you so much for sharing, donating and most importantly, praying for Nick’s complete healing and recovery. Please continue to pray for both Nick and his family! He is incredibly strong! We’ve always known this to be true about him! He’s a fighter, and he never gives up!
He is so much to so many of us. A son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, professor, co-worker, colleague, cheerleader, warrior, encourager, prayer partner, comedian, mentor, source of joy, and truly a blessing!
It is our turn to be his cheerleader and show him how much he is loved!
Hugs!
Tracy
