Love & support for Officer Hedgepeth's daughter

The Naperville Police Department is reaching out in hopes of helping one of our own Officers in blue. Officer Alonzo Hedgepeth came to NPD in February 2023 after serving 7 years at Richton Park Police Department. NPD couldn’t be happier to work with such a driven and inspiring Officer. For those of you that know Officer Hedgepeth, you know him as a selfless, energetic, hardworking officer but more importantly, a devoted father to his family.

Officer Hedgepeth is a loving husband to his wife Kala and is a father of four beautiful children, Kylee (11 yoa), Kennedi (11 yoa), Alonzo Jr, (10 yoa) and Karter (3 yoa). The Hedgepeth family has two beautiful guardian angels watching over them, Kennedi (11 yoa) who is Kylee’s identical twin, and Karter (3 yoa). Both guardian angels suffered from health complications and unfortunately succumbed to their medical fragility far too soon.

Kylee continues to fight for herself and her family every day. The Naperville Police Department will be there with her every step of the way and if the past few months has shown anything, it’s that we should all strive to be #Kick-buttLikeKylee.

Kylee is a strong, happy, 11 year-old girl with special needs who has been hindered by various medical anomalies and an unmeasurable amount of hospitalizations. Kylee was born premature as an identical twin.

Kylee is still fighting, and with doctors trying hard to find solutions to her many complexities, Kylee has been in and out of the hospital; spending weeks at a time away from her family who support and love her dearly.

Kylee adores her family. She loves her dad who occupies much of his time as a dedicated police officer; protecting and serving the community, her mom who is always with her and never leaves her side, and her little brother who misses her immensely when she is away.

Presently, Kylee is in Palliative Care and utilizes life support measures to optimize her quality of life. Hospitalizations are frequent and extended, vital organs and systems are becoming more critically impacted, and pain is a constant.

If there is an ounce of opportunity to negate stress and ameliorate Kylee’s joyfulness, it is worth exploring. Please know that any relief of the aforementioned is greatly appreciated.
