In loving memory of Elizabeth Talabi

Sickle cell is a blood condition which causes abnormalities in the shape of the affected’s blood cells- where healthy red blood cells are circular, sickled blood is shaped like a sickle or crescent moon. This causes blood clots, extreme pain, limb swelling and a host of other agonising symptoms and death. Many warriors (the term used to refer to the beautiful people who live with and fight this condition) experience an array of life threatening symptoms which can trigger and escalate  to a Sickle Cell Crisis episode in which they often need to be hospitalised for days, weeks or months.

My sister, Elizabeth Talabi, was the most loving, kind hearted and compassionate of all of us in the family. She was so full of love that it was radiating from her. She was such a gentle little girl. She passed away on March 15th 2012 due to complications with #sickle-cell anaemia at the age of 9- a few months before her 10th birthday. My baby girl had 2% blood left in her body when she passed as her body stopped producing blood.

I'm raising money in aid of Sicklekan Sickle Cell Foundation, an amazing and dedicated charity with whom I have worked alongside personally. Every donation will help.
More information about Sicklekan Sickle Cell Foundation: A charitable organisation run by those affected by sickle to help support and raise awareness to sickle cell patients in London and the surrounding areas.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
