Loved one vulnerable to Covid recently homeless
**Edit: Hey, y’all! Thank you so much for all the support!!!! GoFundMe actually takes 30% of the funds raised, but the recipient really needs all the help they can get. If we overshoot by $600, then they can get the full goal money! **
My name is Amber and I am an Ohio State student currently living in Cleveland, OH. A close loved one of mine, who suffers from chronic illness, has recently become homeless. I am using this campaign to provide them with monetary resources to get an inexpensive room while they take time to figure out a more permanent housing solution. Because I am a student that has gone back and forth between cities, I do not have permanent housing to offer them a bed, and in the midst of the Covid-fueled economic crash I also have very little cash-resources to offer them myself.
On any given day, we all know how dangerous homelessness can be. When you are homeless, you do not have the comfort or security of a warm place to lay your head. Guaranteed access to basic necessities like clean running water, nutritious meals, consistent electricity and wifi, or a permanent mailing address all vanish. Homeless people are often also left with the tough choices in the day-to-day on how to remain physically safe, while being harassed by local police and security, or other civilians on the street.
Compounding these issues then with chronic physical ailments: surviving without a home sounds impossible.
Now add the issues of the highly infectious disease Covid-19 and the terror of militarized streets during the BLM protests. It is a lot to deal with, and unfortunately I do not have the resources to help them on my own. I have chosen to omit the recipient’s name and information for personal reasons, but I promise that all donations will be used for the express purpose of helping them find somewhere safe to go.
Please donate if you can and share if you can’t. Sending anyone who is reading this Love and hoping you stay safe.
