Love for Lindsay

Hello, our names are Ashley and Chrisie and we have set this up for our very dear friend, Lindsay Comeau. On July 18th, Lindsay was diagnosed with Stage 3 Inflammatory Breast Cancer, which has spread to her lymph nodes. This is not your typical breast cancer - it is a rare, aggressive kind that only accounts for 1-5% of all breast cancers. As such, the treatment is aggressive and costly, to give the best chance for survival.

Lindsay is a partner to Brian, a mother to Ethan and Dexton, a step mother to Keandra, Brad, William and Paige, a daughter, a sister and a friend and one of the most kindest, sweetest people you could meet. Lindsay has spent countless hours donating her time for minor hockey bingos, tournaments and numerous of my personal causes as well as so many people daily in her job with Alberta Justice. She would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it.

We know Lindsay is going to need 4 treatments of a $6000 (per treatment) medication for a total cost of $24,000 before she goes for a double mastectomy and she will need to do radiation away and there will be costs associated with that. Lindsay’s insurance plan has declined coverage for this medication and she is going to need the first treatment soon. They are appealing the decision about the medication but there are no promises there will be any coverage and there will be many additional costs incurred.

We are planning a dinner and silent auction to take place in October to raise additional funds but wanted to start this as an immediate way to get her funds for these much needed medications and surmounting costs so she can focus on being the warrior she is without having to worry about a financial strain.
