From Toronto with Love
There is a lot going on in Israel right now. Terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, police men and women, and soldiers continue on a daily basis. Much of the world's media chooses not to report on these attacks or reports them with extreme anti-Israel bias.
I am fortunate to be traveling to Israel at the end of December to visit family for a simcha and want to do something, anything to show some support.
My friend Assaf Rosen and I will be traveling to the Golan Heights to visit the soldiers of an elite paratroop unit (חֲטִיבַת הַצַּנְחָנִים). Our hope is to bring them a warm welcome from Canada.
We plan on putting out a bbq spread including grilled meats, salads, fresh pitas, etc. A thank you feast from Toronto to Israel. But that's not it...
As you can imagine, the mountainous region of the Golan Heights can be a cold place to hang out. Temperatures at night regularly drop below freezing. The Israeli army does not supply adequate gear for soldiers to properly equip themselves for this kind of weather. All funds collected over and above the costs of the meal we are making will be used to buy hats, gloves, and other equipment that will be so greatly appreciated.
"So what can I do to help?"
Please donate to help us reach our goal!
"I've done that, what else can I do?"
1) Have your kids make signs or cards that we can take with us to give to the soldiers. You can drop them off or mail them to me and Assaf to take with us.
2) If you will be in Israel and are interested in helping us on the day please email me. We are allowed to take a select number of people with us.
None of the money we raise will go to cover our trip expenses in any way. 100% of the funds collected will go directly to the aforementioned event and equipment.
I am traveling on Dec 27th so we will need the funds collected by Friday, December 25th.
It would mean so much to us to be able to go as your messengers and deliver this warm greeting from North America. We thank you in advance for your support! I promise lots of social media pics to show you just how much it is appreciated on the other end.
