Loveland Kroger Employees Lose Everything!
Donation protected
Hi, I am Doug Klueh, a 35 year resident of Loveland and equally as long customer of Loveland Kroger. Like most residents, I spend my weekends running errands around town and regularly come across other Loveland residents working in local businesses i.e. gas stations, coffee shops, grocery stores. I don't always know them by name nor do I know "their story", but I recognize them enough to share pleasantries.
This past Sunday while shopping at Loveland Kroger, I had a slightly different exchange that really moved me. I happened to overhear the cashier make a comment that she was having trouble reading produce tags to ring up as she did not have her glasses; she made the comment that they had burned up in "the fire". I asked if it was anything serious. She went on to share that her apartment had caught on fire the day before, and she and her child had lost everything in the fire after recently just moving in and buying new furnishings. While expressing empathy, I was also a little shocked and I made the comment I couldn't believe she was back at work hours after losing everything. Her comment to me was "someone has to pay the bills".
I was so struck by her determination to overcome and her situation, I felt compelled to do something for her. After contacting the Loveland Kroger store manager, I found out that two Kroger employees, Tanya and Dianna, both with children in Loveland schools, lost everything in the fire on Saturday.
Since many of our friends and neighbors shop Loveland Kroger regularly and may never know what Tanya and Dianna are going through, I wanted to get the word out and try to help them in this season of giving. I am hoping to collect as much as possible for them both and present the gift to them this weekend before the holidays. Any help I am sure would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance! Doug..
