Lovely Laura's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Laura was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease at the age of 3 1/2. She's a sweet beautiful 12 year old who is non-verbal & non-ambulatory, but she captures everyone's heart with her smile and laughter.
Due to her illness, she suffers with developmental delays, hypotonia, and seizures. As Laura has grown, her muscle strength has not developed enough to support her spine, resulting in extreme curvature to her spine (more than 90°). Due to the severity of the condition, she is set for surgery on August 26th for a spinal fusion. Laura will be in the hospital for up to 2 weeks and will have a recovery time of approximately 4 weeks after.
Tammy, Laura's loving, devoted and hard working mother, works two jobs to support both Laura and her older brother, Jackson. Tammy will not receive any financial support from her work nor will the Addisons have any other financial support during this trying time and as a result we are asking for your help.
This campaign is lovingly created by friends of the Addison Family. We understand the struggles of this amazing mother & her challenges raising a handicapped child. We hope Laura's story inspires you to donate.
Needs:
*Tammy will not receive paid leave during Laura's hospital stay and recovery (6-8 weeks)
*Gait trainer
*Wheelchair carrier and cover for her van
*Unexpected medical expenses
*Transition to handicap accessible home to rent instead of small apartment (current residence)
