Loving Memory of Jimmy Hoppe

Donation protected
On October 7, 2023, while traveling abroad in Cambodia, my brother Jimmy suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest.

His sudden departure has left a great sadness. He is deeply missed by his wife Sydney, their beautiful children Charlotte, Vivian, Zypher, Alice, Asher and his stepson Liam.
Also trying to figure out a way ahead without his presence is his mom Margaret, dad Jim (big Jim) and sister Amber.

As you know, it'll be costly for his Repatriation to bring him home to the US.
We still have more questions than answers but as we wait, we are trying to do what he would have wished.
We're hoping to come together as a family and community to raise funds for bringing Jimmy home, his Celebration of Life, and support for his family.

It is no secret Jimmy led 1/2 of his life fighting addiction, but this didn't define him. Before and during, he was someone's little boy, someone's brother, someone's dad, someone's husband, and someone's friend.
There is no shame in that fight. To the contrary, it made him stronger.
He was full of so much life, adventure and laughter. He brought hope to the hopeless in his moments of clarity and even in his times of uncertainty. He was beloved by God.

A wise woman told me joy and grief can exist side by side. In that we find rest.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Thank you from the deepest part of my being friends, family, and people who have just stumbled across this and feel touched. We are so grateful.

I hope Jimmy's memory goes far and wide. His story is not over.

Celebration of Life details to come.

With love and adoration,
Amber (sis), Sydney (wife), Margaret & Jim (mom & dad)
