Condolences can be sent via the contact button at the bottom of the page, or leave a message on the board if you so wish! Sarah Sherry and the entire Meier family DO receive these messages and not overwhelming them at this time is appreciated.
Donations to the Meier Family GoFundMe is appreciated over flowers or food deliveries… Their future expenses are surely to be an adjustment as Justin was the primary income for their family.
At some point there will be a celebration of Life for Justin which we WILL post about here when that time comes. So check back for that information at a later date…
Thank you to everyone for your prayers donations well wishes and love through this entire very difficult journey, you don’t know how much it is appreciated. We all are truly humbled by your generosity…
Happy Easter ✝️ to all and God Bless

Apologies for the lack of updates/ information
Or lack thereof since the 28th. I was trying to be respectful of the family and give them some time and as most of you know the days got away from me.
Or lack thereof since the 28th. I was trying to be respectful of the family and give them some time and as most of you know the days got away from me.
Justin’s Mom, Sherry, has been at the hospital most everyday and also has the opportunity to sleep over if they wish. Though visitors are still very monitored only allowing 2 people a day for certain hours. With both Sherry and Sarah there most days it has only been a few family members who have also gone. Justin was blessed to see his brother Kyle, Aunt Julie, and Gabby within the last few weeks after the decision of comfort care was made.
Sherry and Sarah’s latest on Justin is that he seems to be resting peacefully, and doesn’t seem to be in pain. He continues to sleep through the night and is in and out during the day. The doctors made them aware from the beginning that there is a process he will go through and no one knows the timeline for which he will go through it. Though they did give an estimate to the Meier’s of 1-2 weeks… To Sherry and Sarah it seems to be going slower then they had anticipated. The doctors continue to keep him comfortable with pain meds, but otherwise he isn’t on many medications nor has he been on any breathing equipment for some time…
Sadly those of us here we would like this process to happen sooner rather then later as each day is a reminder of the inevitable, it is in Gods hands. It is in His timing, though we ALL continue to pray for God to work a miracle upon Justin HE is SO capable of doing… We will continue sending Justin our love hugs and kind words through Sherry and Sarah to bring him comfort each day…

John 11:25-26
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”
Many are comforted in knowing Justin has faith in God, and believed His promises to us. Knowing and living in Jesus we know we will all meet again one day and rejoice in the heavens… God Bless
*******March 28, 2022 UPDATE*******
Justin’s family all met with Neurosurgeon Claire yesterday to discuss his state, progress, and potential. This was the 6 week check up from her last visit with the family. We are saddened by the outcome of that meeting, but have known the potential of such a meeting this entire time.
After speaking with Justin’s team of Doctors and the many tests they have ran on Justin in the last 6 weeks, they have seen no real improvement and have determined that his condition would never improve. With this news the family made the very difficult decision to start comfort care for Justin. This means only giving Justin pain meds to make him comfortable until he passes, which the doctors anticipate that being less then 2 weeks, or could be at any moment.

We are all saddened, grief stricken, and yet praying harder then ever for a miracle to take place… As you can imagine Sarah, Sherry and the kids are overwhelmed at this time… If you’d like to send a message of love, empathy, or condolences by all means do so, but please respect their place right now and know you many not get an instant reply… If you prefer you can email this page and myself or Angie will print them all out and get them to the family to read at a less sensitive time…
Donations to the Meier Family GoFundMe is appreciated over flowers or food deliveries… Sarah has the daunting task to now plan Justin’s funeral with no notice or preparations…
There will be a celebration of Life for Justin at a later date in which we WILL post here so check back for that information soon…
We appreciate everyone’s thoughts, prayers, get wells, support, and comforting words through this last 3 months with Justin in the hospital… This is not the outcome ANY of us hoped or prayed for, but it’s Gods plan not ours… We find comfort in knowing he will be with our Heavenly Father watching over us, guiding his children, and pulling practical jokes on us from time to time…
Psalms 23:4 tells us “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Hello Friend's, Family, and Loved ones of The Meiers- Justin, Sarah, Gabby, Isaiah, Grace, and Gideon.

Hello Friend's, Family, and Loved ones of The Meiers- Justin, Sarah, Gabby, Isaiah, Grace, and Gideon.
Many of you may already know, but some may not. Justin suffered a intracerebral hemorrhage stroke on Thursday January 6th, 2022. He was at home with Sarah and the kids, thankfully, and Sarah was able to aid him until the Paramedics and the Shoul's arrived. Justin was then taken immediately to Harborview where he is still currently in the ICU.
This type of stroke is very serious and the outcome cannot be known, only time will tell. Justin is a fighter! His faith is strong and his love for his family is stronger so we know he will fight as hard as he can to get back home.
There are not enough kind, loving words to explain, how I know we all feel, about The Meier Family. The truly giving people they are, never wanting to accept help from others, Sarah has allowed us to start this page to support her family during a time when they will most definitely need it.
If you are able, please make a donation to The Meier Family. Proverbs 11:21 says "Many hands make light work." We know not one of us individually can make the impact needed to help The Meiers, but together we can accomplish great works.
All proceeds will be distributed directly to Justin and Sarah Meier for medical expenses as well as living expenses and caring for the kids while they are both off work to overcome his stroke.
The Meier families faith in our Lord is strong and knowing that their tribe is praying for them will bring comfort to them also. So please keep them in your prayers.
From all of us that love and adore The Meiers. May God Bless You All!!!

**********MEAL TRAIN INFO*************
As promised to many of you when a Meal Train was started we would let everyone know. The Meier's very good friends, The Anaya's, have started a Meal Train for Sarah, Sherry, Grace, and Gideon. All the information you will need to know Katie has posted on the Meal Train link. God Bless The Anaya's and all of you who have continued to show up for this family, they are humbled, thankful, and send the sincerest gratitude to each one of you! https://mealtrain.com/k1ym90
Saturday 1/8/22 UPDATE: It's been a very short time, but he is progressing. He, as of Saturday evening, had still not opened his eyes to be fully awake. But he will respond to some commands. They removed his ventilator tube Saturday also, which is great news. They are doing everything they can for him at this point, but we have no idea what the future holds, how long he will be hospitalized, or what the extent of his care will be. Pray for complete healing for Justin and strength and comfort for his family and friends.
Sunday 1/9/22 UPDATE: Sunday morning came with regression during the night. Justin wasn’t breathing well without the ventilator. They believe he aspirated as he started running a fever. He was reventilated and put on antibiotics for infection. He is also not responding to commands any longer. Please continue to pray for complete healing.
Sunday 1/9/22 UPDATE: Sarah’s Sunday Evening visit brought better news… Justin’s fever has reduced significantly, although the aspiration caused pneumonia. They are combating it with antibiotics and his doctors are optimistic the pneumonia will get better and he will improve. As always please continue to pray for complete healing.
Monday 1/10/22 UPDATE: Monday morning brings us better news… Justin had a good night with vital signs improving. He can give a thumbs up again and wiggle his toes. Having the ventilator back in is helping! Please keep Justin in your prayers for his complete healing…

Monday 1/10/22 UPDATE: Due to COVID only ONE person is allowed to go in and see Justin for ONE hour PER DAY!! SO CRAZY!!
Today Justin's Mom, Sherry, went to go see Justin. She has good things to report back stating he has good movement on his right side but still minimal movement on the left when commanded. He's opening his eyes on command!!!! AND can BLINK and squeeze them shut!!! Although he is still on the ventilator he is mostly breathing on his own, they are just pushing some oxygen through to help. They will be leaving him on the trachea tube until they are SURE he has stronger breathing so they don't have to intubate again. Justin is on a feeding tube but does have regular bowel function. His blood pressure is still not where they want to see it and are trying to bring it down with medication. He still has a slight fever, although he feels cool to the touch. All and all MUCH better then yesterday!!!
Acts 3:16 "By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see." Please keep those prayers coming!!
Tuesday 1/11/2022 UPDATE: No news is good news right?? In this case it is!!! Justin is doing good and the Doctor doesn't really have anything new to report this morning. Which is great because there were no setbacks last night like previous nights. Thank you everyone for the prayers, they are helping!! Lets all continue to pray for Justin's complete healing.
Tuesday 1/11/22 Sarah’s afternoon visit with Justin went really well. He opened his eyes a lot and looked at her when she talked to him. He's still able to do all the commands when prompted. He did sleep a lot while she was there, but Sarah’s talk with the doctor was very encouraging!!! The Doc’s really happy with Justin's progress!!! AMEN!!! Still a long road ahead but we will take baby steps of progress any day over regression… Please don’t cease the prayers for complete healing, they are being heard…
Wednesday 1/12/22 Our morning update didn't lend any new information. Justin is doing good, still following commands as able. No bad news is always good!! Continued prayers for Justin's complete healing!!
Wednesday 1/12/22 Around 1 this afternoon they took Justin off the ventilator as his breathing has improved and he has been breathing primarily on his own and only using ventilator as "rescue" with some oxygen flowing. He is fully opening his eyes and will look to the left and right on command. Unfortunately they also told Sarah the person visiting today, Justin's sister Leslie, would be the last until further notice. The hospital is shutting down to visitors due to the amount of staff out with COVID and or sick. Although Justin didn't wake up during Leslie's afternoon visit today he would occasionally take deep breaths and she could tell he was swallowing. Though not waking he did move and lift his arm a few times. Leslie made sure the family got to talk to him via speaker phone to send their love. Justin does still have the pneumonia, a possible infection, fever, and high blood pressure all of which are being treated with meds. The meds are helping them all stay within the acceptable range. We will get updates from the Doctor's still and will post what information is relayed to us. Please continue to pray for Justin's complete healing and a fast recovery for the hospital staff so that we may regain visitation privilege's quickly.
Thursday 1/13/22 Great news!! Justin had a good night without his ventilator!! He is still able to follow commands this morning.. Baby steps of progress but we’ll take it!! Please continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing!!
Thursday 1/13/22 Sarah's evening update from the doctor was uneventful, which is GREAT!!! Justin is still breathing well with out the ventilator. He is still running a slight fever but it has gone down throughout the day.. Justin has been resting for most of the day but will open his eyes and look around when someone is in the room.. Each day brings more hope and our prayers are being heard as he is slowly healing..
Please pray with us: O Lord let the oil of your healing flow through Justin like a living stream. Bathe Justin in those clear waters each day. Lord we pray for Justin to keep his eyes on you, and trust in you that he will fully recover. That he gives you all that he is, and rest in your peace knowing you have said "...I will restore Health to you and heal you of your wounds."-Jeremiah 30:17 Amen
When He says it it SHALL be DONE!! Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers.
Friday 1/14/22 This morning Justin, although extremely tired, is still breathing well on his own without the ventilator. Another morning with NO setbacks and Doc said he did well last night. Good things are happening please continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing!
Friday 1/14/22 This evenings check in feels as though it hasn't changed from previous ones in the last few days. The one important change is that his fever has subsided. Justin is still breathing really well on his own. He seems to be comfortable and sleeping often. He is still able to complete commands when asked to do so. Progress is slow but steady. The nurse Sarah spoke to didn't know anything about his pneumonia so she will get an update on that from the Doctor tomorrow. Not seeing much progression can lead you to question or worry about the recovery. Though the more days Justin is able to go with no complications, breathing on his own, resting comfortably, and not regressing is actually GREAT news. The nurse says that also means his body is able to rest and heal itself, and that his progress is good.
With the outpouring of kindness abounding us this last week we are reminded of this verse-
"Pleasant Words Are A Honeycomb, Sweet To The Soul, And Health To The Bones!" - Proverbs 16:24
The family sends its sincerest gratitude for each person whom has donated, shared this post for others to also lend a hand in some form or fashion, prayed endlessly, and for all the kind words spoken. Let us continue to pray for Justin's progression, however slow it seems, and of course his eventual complete healing. God Bless
Saturday 1/15/22 Sarah talked to the doctor this morning, Justin had a really good night. His breathing is great. His left side had been slower to respond to commands, but she said he did really well with those last night. Justin’s opening his eyes more, he’s more alert. He's been really tired the last few days, still sleeping a lot, but is making progress. So that was really encouraging to hear! Good things are happening let us all continue to pray!
Saturday 1/15/22 Sarah and Sherry got to Zoom call with Justin this afternoon. He unfortunately didn’t open his eyes during the call but his nurse did say that earlier in the day he was doing his commands 4 times what he was before. I assume meaning when he first started doing the commands they were very slight and you could tell he was extremely exhausted trying to do what they were asking him. Now that he has gotten some rest it’s steadily improving. The doctor may have found the reason for his high blood pressure that they have only been able to control with meds. They ran some tests and X-rays so once we have more information we will definitely relay it to everyone. May we all continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing.
Sunday 1/16/22 Sarah spoke with Justin’s doctor this afternoon, he let her know that although Justin is off the ventilator he is still on a high flow of oxygen. Each time they try to wean him off of it he doesn’t do well. If in a week he can’t be weaned off the oxygen they will look at putting a trach in. He is off the antibiotics for the pneumonia they are just waiting for it to fully disappear. Justin’s still following all the commands as instructed. Please add to your prayers that his airways be opened and he be given strength to start fully breathing on his own… Lord we pray for complete healing for Justin and strength and comfort for the entire Meier family. Amen
Monday 1/17/22 No changes. Please continue to pray.
Tuesday 1/18/2022 Sarah spoke to the doctor this morning and Justin is having a hard time breathing on his own. He has stopped doing commands which is bothersome. The doctor has decided to put in a Trach at 2pm today. The doctor demonstrated on a Zoom call with Sarah and Sherry how it would help his breathing vs his breathing without it. They think this will help him continue to progress if he isn’t working so hard just to breathe. Justin’s pic tube is still draining which means he’s still bleeding from the intercereberal hemorrhage. We are definitely not out of the woods, please continue to pray your hardest for this family and Justin’s complete healing. God bless.
Wednesday 1/19/22 As of late last night Justin had not received the Trach as they had been too busy and could not complete it. He was set to have it done today. The doctor also said he is still not responding to commands and is snoring constantly. The trach is supposed to alleviate the snoring and hopefully give him more energy to heal. After speaking with our lead Deacon at our church Justin is now on 2 of our prayer chains with prayer warriors calling him out by name. This brought great relief to Sarah when she found out. Once visitors are allowed back in we will have a Deacon or our Pastor go visit Justin as well. I'll post more later once we receive any new information from todays events. Please continue to be steadfast in your prayers as they are still urgently needed.. God Bless.
Thursday 1/20/22 Sarah spoke with the doctor and confirmed Justin did have the trach put in yesterday, so that's good news. Justin did well with the imputing of the trach and through the night. Otherwise no new news this morning. Vitals are good and steady, he has a small amount of movement but nothing like before. Please continue to pray for his complete healing and that we will start seeing improvement.
"The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well. The Lord WILL raise them up." -James 5:15 God Bless
Thursday 1/20/22 Sarah talked with the doctors this afternoon and Justin had several more tests performed today and may have to have a few more done. They checked his brain for new hemorrhaging as he is still draining. They found NO new hemorrhages and said the draining is still from the initial hemorrhage site. They however found a blood clot in his lung that traveled from his leg. This is common for people whom have little to no movement in ICU. They are going to put him on a VERY low blood thinner to try and combat this from happening again and monitor him very closely. Matthew 21:22 reads, "And whatever you ask in prayer you will receive, if you have faith." Please continue to pray for Justin's complete healing and bring him home to Sarah and the kids.
Friday 1/21/22 God is good all the time, all the time God is good. The doctors update this morning is they are amazed that for the last 3 days Justin has been unresponsive BUT today he is periodically responding to commands and he opened his eyes. ANY little progress, even as small as a mustard seed with Faith will move mountains. Please don't cease your prayers for Justin's complete healing.
Saturday 1/22/22 Sarah has spoken with the doctor a few times and it seems no big changes but Justin’s vitals are good, he hasn’t had a fever all day. He’s squeezed the doctors hand on command and wiggled his toes and he’ll periodically open his eyes.
Sarah also got prayed over tonight by our Senior Pastor Tina Archer, as well as Dave Narron our campus pastor we know where two or more gather in prayer God hears us. An immediate and urgently needed improvement in Justin was called out, strength and the power of His mighty hand in or favor.
Sarah’s faith in the Lord and her strength is truly amazing . She is an inspiration and definitely a mentor to look up to and learn how to truly walk with the Lord. As we all continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing let us too be thankful for the small miracles God has already brought us. God Bless
Monday 01/24/22 Our updates haven't been changing much in the last few days so I haven't posted. Sarah spoke with the nurse today and the update is much the same. No new changes and Justin is sleeping alot. Please continue to pray with us for his complete healing. God Bless
Wednesday 01/26/2022 Sarah spoke with the doctors yesterday afternoon and we have news that Justin has a bacterial infection in his blood which they are treating with antibiotics. He's intermittently responding to commands and his eyes are opening more frequently. Justin still has blood clots in his lungs they are trying to dissipate with blood thinners, but with no movement these are common. Please continue to pray with the rest of us for Justin's complete healing. Exodus 14:14 says "As I am still, the Lord fights for me." Lord please continue to fight for your mighty warrior, son, father, friend and so much more, we pray for Justin's complete healing-no matter how slow the progress Lord we pray for no setbacks or regression Lord we pray for you to bring your mighty hand and lay it on Justin and heal him in your name. All the praise and glory to you in Jesus name, Amen. God Bless
Thursday 1/27/22 Sarah's conversation with the doctor this morning didn't come with the best news. Justin's hemorrhage is still draining from his pik tube. They had tried to shut off the line to see if his body would absorb the fluid, but unfortunately it did not. They will be putting a shunt in tomorrow to help his body absorb the fluid. The surgery takes a couple hours, so please keep Justin in your prayers for a successful surgery. Matthew 18:20 says "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Lord we gather in your name to pray that your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear. Lord let this surgery be what Justin needed to heal to whole again, let this be the beginning step to the miracle you are preforming in Justin right now. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. God Bless everyone and many thanks from the Meier family for your continued support and prayers.
Friday 1/28/22 Justin had the VP Shunt put in today. They did a scan afterwards to ensure everything was in place and it all looked good. Sarah and Sherry had a Zoom call today and his eyes were open the entire time- over an hour! Small victories like this are encouraging and a reminder for them that he’s still fighting!!! Let’s all stay steadfast in our prayers for Justin’s complete healing. Let this be the push the ball needed to get rolling to his complete healing. God Bless
Sunday 1/30/22 Our update for today came with no regression and they want to move Justin to the Acute floor and out of ICU. That simply means he’ll get checked on every 3 hours instead of every hour. He has been doing good with his breathing they had been only venting him at night and stopped a few nights ago and he’s been fine. His shunt is doing what it is supposed to and he’s stable. He’s been sleeping a lot still and hasn’t had a ton of movement but he’s stable so they are pleased with that. Thank you again to all who have donated, prayed, sent kind words, sent food, among many other things we could never thank everyone for!! Let us all continue to pray endlessly for Justin’s complete healing!!
Monday 1/31/22 Sarah spoke to the doctors today and they are planning to move Justin to the Acute floor as soon as a bed opens. They also spoke with Sarah about transferring him to a long term care facility. He has stopped doing commands as requested and they are unsure how long it will take for any more recovery. Please continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing. God Bless you all!!
Wednesday 2/2/22 Sarah spoke with the doctors and Justin’s last CT scan showed a influx of swelling in his brain so he has been transferred back to the ICU. They adjusted the shunt to hopefully allow more pressure to be released from his brain. The doctors are running more tests today to try and figure out why this is happening/happened! Sarah’s one request at this time is for each one of us to pray… Pray for the Lords will to be done, whatever that may be…
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”-John 14:27 God Bless
Thursday 2/3/22 Sarah and Sherry have a zoom call with the Neurosurgeon this afternoon To discuss the next steps to take after the latest CT scan and tests they ran. Please continue to pray for God’s miracle and Justin’s complete healing… God Bless
Friday 2/4/22 Sarah and Sherry's meeting with the Neurosurgeon was somewhat what they had expected to be said, though less final as they originally thought. Justin is currently in a coma, self induced NOT medically induced by his doctors. The neurosurgeon has suggested that they wait a few days, have another MRI done so that they can better see what his brain is doing at this point. As we have found out Wednesday his brain started swelling again and they weren’t sure why. At this point they have said it’s still just a waiting game, and more decisions can be made based upon what they find on the MRI but to consider all scenarios and what Justin’s wishes would be in those scenarios. Please continue to pray with us for Gods will to be done. Lord lay your hands on Justin and heal him as we know you can. Lord let us know your presence is with him in his time of need. Let Sarah and Sherry hear or see your vision for Justin Lord to give them clarity and peace to make decisions for Justin and his care. In Gods name we pray to you, Amen. God Bless you all and thank you for continually checking in on Justin. Much love and thanks from all of us…
Saturday 2/5/22 Justin is having his MRI done today and Sarah is supposed to update us when she hears something. He’s still in a coma and isn’t responding. He has also started sweating but doesn’t have a fever so they are also looking into that. Stay tuned Continue to pray and God Bless
Sunday 2/6/22 Sarah finally spoke with the doctor this afternoon about Justin’s MRI results. The doctor said from what they saw they can’t determine what is permanent and what isn’t. They have decided to start him in a drug that will try to wake him up and see if that has any effect. As for now there are no changes, he’s still in a Coma and isn’t responding to commands. No determination as far as the sweating goes yet either. We will update more as information comes available. Please continue to pray with us for Justin’s complete healing, for Gods will to be done.
“But now I will heal and mend them. I will make them whole and bless them with an abundance of peace and security. “ -Jacob 33:6
Tuesday 2/7/22 There's not to much to report over the last few days. Justin is still in a self induced coma, breathing on his own, but clearly not responding to commands. The medicine used to try and "wake him up" he hasn't responded to. The doctors did tell Sarah not all patients respond and its a tool to try not a for sure thing. We all just continue to pray for God's will to be done and Justin will have complete healing. God Bless
Wednesday 2/8/22 Sherry talked to the nurse today and Justin is doing good. He opened his left eye once, grasped once with his right hand and he has reflex movement in arms when pinched. They are still working through the process to remove the trac, as it takes awhile. He is flushed from sweating, which is due to his brain injury. He opens his eyes occasionally, but pupils are unresponsive. He also had physical therapy today to stretch his muscles and help prevent the blood clots. All baby steps, but in the right direction. Please continue to pray for Justins complete healing. God Bless.

God Bless.
Saturday 2/12/22 There hasn’t been much change the last few days. However Sarah just had a zoom call with Justin’s neurologist yesterday and the Dr broke down a lot of what’s happening with Justin, what it means, what it doesn’t mean, and what the timeline is for progression. We all thought, as the nurses maybe have alluded, that Justin opening his eyes randomly and responding to pain but not commands was a good thing, a step forward. However the neurologist has told us that it’s just his body reacting, and the eye flutters are just a side effect of his brain injury. The Dr said they recognize brain activity by dilation of the pupils when subjected to light, Justin’s pupils do not do this. The Dr also explained the severity of what he suffered, where the brain is actually bleeding and how that blood effects the brain. The Dr is afraid the blood and the swelling and pressure has basically killed his brain. Though did say that it’s at the 3 month mark when they reevaluate the condition, progress, what his wishes would be for where he is at, at that time and likeliness of recovery. They can do a test that will measure his brain activity and are looking into it but haven’t ordered it yet. While we all continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing it has become a reality that chances of it are still very unknown and looking smaller by each day with no progression. Sarah has the highest faith that Jesus will restore Justin and that whatever his plan is that it is done, freeing her of making any decisions regarding finality. Please continue to pray with us for Gods will to be done, whatever that may be. Pray for the family and their strength and peace as they are facing new decisions and an unknown future. If anyone has more questions please reach out here via email to myself or Angie and we will help to answer questions as best we can. God Bless!
Tuesday 2/15/2022 There has been no changes to report to date. They sat him up in a chair this morning, they found a bed sore that they are now treating. His trach has been capped for a day and he is doing well breathing on his own. He's still not following commands and opens both eyes occasionally, which is again a consequence of the stroke/coma. Jeremiah 30:17 says "For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds says the Lord."
Wednesday 2/16/2022 We got news from a source that TOMORROW they OPEN the hospital for ONE visitor from 12-6!!! Praise the Lord for answering our prayers... God Bless
Thursday 2/17/2022 Sarah got to go see Justin today for the first time in weeks. She spent quite a bit of time with him and watched him get an EEG, which they were doing to look for seizure activity. Though Sarah tried to convince the tech to tell her something, he declined lol... Sarah did say Justin looked very different from on the screen when they zoom. He has lost weight, grew a lot of facial hair, and of course has no movement. To date he still isn't responding to commands and now hasn't been responding to pain either. We are still praying with all our warriors for Justin's recovery, the Lord works Miracles everyday! Keep those prayers coming God Bless!
Friday 2/18/2022 Sherry went to spend time with Justin today in her time she spoke with the nurses and the ANPR who said all Justin needs is time. Even when it seems the darkest of time, someone shines some light onto the always remaining possibility of hope. Hope that is not to be forgotten and is fully available through the power of our prayer. In Luke 18:12 Jesus replies, "what is impossible with man is possible with God." AMEN to MIRACLES happening daily, no matter how small the progression. Once Sherry arrived back to the house her and Sarah discussed her time with Justin and Sherry told Sarah she asked Justin to move his thumb for her and he did, he blinked a few times, and moved his toe. This is days without movement to see some small movement is encouraging. Though we have full knowledge of what his Neurologist has said, we fully believe God isn't done working through or on Justin yet. We pray that God's will, will be done, whatever that is. Praying for steps of progression and eventually full recovery of course. May you all continue to pray this prayer with us and let Justin feel our love for him and his family through the comforting arms of Jesus. Lord bring strength and peace abounding to those suffering the most, and let them feel the power of your love for us Lord. We pray for your mighty hand to wash over Justin and heal him, restoring his health and mental well being and bring him home to his family who dearly misses him. In God's name we all pray, Amen.
Sunday 2/20/2022 Justin got a special visitor yesterday! Gabby flew in right away after finding out he was allowed visitors again so she was able to go spend time with him on Saturday. Justin is still in the self induced coma, however they did take the trach out so that the wound can heal. The downside to that is now he is snoring a lot and seems to need his throat cleared, which the trach did help out with. They are looking into how to remedy that without redoing the trach since the other wound would need to completely heal first. Sarah is looking into a beard trim for Justin since the hospital does it sporadically and he currently has a form of a goatee, lol. They should have more information this week from the EEG and the neurosurgeon but as of now things are the same as they have been for a few weeks. More updates as they become available. God Bless!
Wednesday 2/23/2022 Sarah got to spend 6 hours with Justin today and was very encouraged with progress today. Sarah said she really likes his current Nurse and she will be there for a few weeks and she was great with Justin today. As far as his progress today he kept his eyes open most of Sarah's visit and was able to track her with his eyes. The Nurse asked him to blink if .... and he would blink. Sarah jokingly asked him if he knew who she was then blink, and of course he did. The obvious question is if he is still in the coma with these new steps he has taken over the last few days. Sarah said she didn't think to ask because she was so happy he was doing anything since he had been just laying still most of the time. The Dr. did tell her his previous state was vegetative and that he is no longer in that state, so we'll get more clarification on what that actually means tomorrow. Any progress is great but with the severity of his stroke we really need to see substantial brain activity for a recovery back to any sense of his normal self so please continue to pray incessantly for Justin's recovery and for the Meier family returning to a whole.
In Luke 8:50 Jesus replied to Jairus "Don't be afraid, just believe, and she will be healed." I can attest that Sarah is living this verse. Sarah is a mighty mighty warrior of God. She has amazed many with her strength, her ability to adapt, her endless contagious positive spirit, her ability to forgive, and her seemingly absent fear even in the most trying period of her life thus far. She remains focused on her family, her faith, and her husband's recovery with a smile on her face, giggles, kind words, and a listening ear and a shoulder for others this entire time. I know Sarah and Sherry both believe God can do anything and if it were only those two believing in God's power to heal Justin, he WILL be healed. Its truly remarkable and contagious. We all love The Meier family and I just wanted Sarah and Sherry to have some encouragement for the great job they are doing in Justin's absence. The kids are doing great and Sarah and Sherry are keeping things as normal as possible for them. They are both amazing women. So if you are so inclined send a little extra lovie dovie mushy appreciation note to these ladies, everyone needs a boost but those in trying times can always use a little more... God Bless!
Monday 3/1/2022 Justin got a special visitor today. Bruce and Gail came in from Indiana and Bruce got to go see Justin today. Justin has been fighting a UTI and has been looking flush and running a low grade fever. They have been giving him antibiotics to fight the infection. Justin over the weekend has still been opening his eyes and tracking people when they are in the room. He wiggled toes and squeezed fingers when asked but it’s definitely not consistent and the strength of the squeezes differ greatly. Any progress is encouraging for the family and we just ask you all to continue to pray for Justin’s complete healing. God Bless!
Tuesday 3/2/2022 Sarah was back at the hospital today. She found they had moved Justin as he had been running a fever through the night and suspected CTAP (we think that’s the name) so he was moved from a 2 person room to a private room with an amazing view of the water and the city of Seattle. Once Sarah arrived she was informed he did NOT have the CTAP but did still have the UTI which they are working to control, and his fever had subsided. Since he didn’t have the CTAP infection Sarah inquired if he would be moved back and she was told that he would remain in his private room unless there was another patient that needed to be quarantined further down the line. During Sarah’s visit Justin had his eyes open and was tracking so she decided to put on some college basketball and lay the speaker by him so he could hear. Sarah said his eyes got bigger and his eyes were moving as if he was following the game and that she could tell he was enjoying it. Things that used to be taken for granted are now such a pleasing sight to see, the smallest glimpse of improvement is so encouraging that our prayers are being heard and God is working in Justin’s favor to bring him home to his family.
Please pray with us for Justin’s complete healing… Lord, look upon Justin with eyes of mercy. May Your healing hand rest upon him, may Your life-giving powers flow into every cell of his body and into the depths of his soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring him to wholeness and strength for service in Your Kingdom. Amen.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers, God Bless!!
Thursday 3/3/2022 Sherry went to spend time with Justin today since she arrived back yesterday from her short trip home to FL. When she arrived she found out he had been moved back to ICU as he is running a 103* fever and his blood pressure is low, but his heart rate was high. Justin also had the catheter removed yesterday and is able to urinate on his own so that is great news as it will help with the UTI issues he’s been dealing with. Sherry did say he looks like he doesn’t feel well so hopefully we see some improvement within the next few days after the antibiotics run it’s course and he is hydrated. He’s been less able to follow commands of course since he’s not feeling well that’s to be expected. Sarah is visiting tomorrow so we will keep everyone posted if there have been any changes..: Continue with us in our unwavering prayers for Justin’s complete healing. God Bless.
Saturday 3/5/2022 Sherry went to see Justin today so Sarah could get some much needed quality time with the kids. Justin is still in the ICU and the Dr told Sherry today that they are going to do a spinal tap today for fluid to see if Justin has an infection that they aren’t currently detecting since he is running a fever still and the meds they have tried dont seem to be resolving the issue. Justin is still slow to follow a command, if he can at all. He was awake a bit for Sherry today but still not feeling well and she could tell.
Jehovah Rophe we pray that your will would be done, that you will waive your mighty hand over Justin’s body and bring the healing that he needs. El Shaddai we know with you anything is possible we pray that you would make Justin one of your miracles. Elohm that you would awaken him to his prior self and use him for advancing your kingdom. In all things we pray to you Yahweh, we call you by name to hear our prayers for this beloved man. Amen
Thank you for continuing to pray with all of us for Justin’s complete healing. The Meier family is truly grateful and humbled by so much generosity and love sent to them over the course of Justin’s hospitalization. God Bless
Sunday 3/13/22 We realize it’s been a bit since we’ve posted an update but it’s only because there haven’t been many changes. Justin is still in the ICU, unresponsive and sleeping almost constantly. Isaiah came in for just a quick visit this week and him and Bruce left on Thursday. The doctors ran a bunch more tests last week for the family to have a meeting Wednesday and discuss the results. Unfortunately not all the test results were back and they ended up wanting to run a few more so Sarah is waiting for some results still. While most of what was discussed in the family meeting was expected, there were some things that were new ideas and tests to run to check some other things out to get a clearer picture of what’s happening. One thing Sarah did find out Friday while visiting Justin was he does have severe neuropathy, however the doctor states it’s not an end all be all and Justin could recover from it. Recovery doesn’t look the same for everyone and some people can and do recover and some do not. Though Sarah did say that Justin’s eyes were less sick looking Friday, open more, and he seemed to be able to focus ON her and not like he was looking past her, so that was encouraging. The main point from the doctors is they just don’t know anything really since it’s a brain injury. They reassess at 3 months to see what his state is at that point as it’s a good indicator of future possibilities. The Doctor stated he wishes he had more clear answers for them but with a brain injury it’s not clear cut and no one is the same scenario, it takes time to heal and they really can’t tell how each person will heal or not. So just as they have been they will treat any symptoms or illness that arises to keep him as healthy as possible so that his brain and body can recover and heal.
Please continue to pray diligently with all of us for Justin’s complete healing and the strength and comfort of his loved ones through this time. God Bless!
Sunday 3/27/2022 Our apologies for lack of updates, even if it was just to say no change. It is increasingly harder to update daily with no significant changes and no new issues arising… Justin is still in ICU with hourly checks on him… Visiting hours have changed and visitors are now allowed to be there from 9am-6pm. Sarah or Sherry visit daily and do range of motion PT with Justin and try and work with him on commands if he is awake. He’s still sleeping frequently and definitely sleeps more after his version of “activity” or movements/commands have been carried out… Sarah ans Sherry meet with the neurosurgeon again today so another update will be posted soon… Please continue to pray for the Meier family and Justin’s healing. God Bless.
