On Friday, November 22, the Castillo family said goodbye to their beloved mother, Imelda Castillo.
She had a way of making everyone feel special. When Adan was a little boy, she would make gorditas or tamales for all his friends! She prayed every night for her family and constantly reminded others that she was praying for them, too.
She was also one of the strongest people I’ve ever met. She faced so many health challenges, but her relentless spirit kept her going, longer than anyone expected. She truly was a fighter.
She loved singing, at church and at home with her family. In her final days, they sang to her just as she had taught them, filling the room with the music. Imelda passed peacefully, with light in her face, surrounded by those who loved her deeply.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for her family. I’m raising funds to help the Castillos with funeral expenses and to remind them how much they’re loved. The family is paying out of their pocket, and the help is needed.
The total costs are:
Funeral: $15,000- Visitation and funeral mass, flowers, cards, casket, burial vault, transportation to and from, embalming/hair/makeup.
Burial/tombstone: $8000
Let’s come together and honor Imelda’s legacy of love, faith, and strength by supporting her family during this time, no matter the amount, every penny matters. Nothing is too small.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
