The Lowd Campaign
Donation protected
I first met Don and Sharon Lowd in 1979 when Don "DK" became one of my Ophthalmology techs at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. He was outstanding. Don rose to be a MSgt in charge of all enlisted in our department. He was well known by the command at WHMC as they would send "problem" enlisted to our department to be redirected by DK to be a productive member of the USAF. He was great at turning people around. When I opened my private practice in Houston, DK was retired from the AF and he joined me in Houston, working at RVT until last Friday. Unfortunately, he developed severe metastatic prostate cancer a number of years ago and has fought it with all of his strength. A week ago Saturday his son John was in a horrific auto accident. His wife, Sharon, went to be with John as DK was extremely tired due to the chemo. John was severely injured and is in the trauma ICU now. Sharon returned home to find DK unresponsive and EMS could not resuscitate him. He has been cremated and is awaiting a ceremony and burial until John can attend. These expenses have taken their toll on the family and they need help. Please consider contributing to this veteran and gentle giant's family and their expenses. Thanks for caring!
