LQ family loses home of 41 years to house fire
Donation protected
The Nava and Hern family at 0330 on the morning of 08/22/2022 merely fled their home with just their lives and the pets they could get out with. They watched as their home of 41 years within the LQ community rapidly went up in flames. The family, consisting of Grandma Geraldine, Grandpa Joe, their son Richard, Grandson James, and James' partner Joel are currently in the very beginning steps of collecting what they can and making every attempt to rebuild their lives literally from the ground up. After many laboring hours today, we retrieved some very minimal mementos. A single photo of their deceased daughter Irene( who they cared for financially for many years as she fell comatose 21 years prior and unfortunately succumbed to her state in July 2021). The pictures of the grandchildren they raised are gone, their daughter's ashes, and many more items they held so much personal value to. For the immediate future, these donations will go to helping with immediate necessities. As in replacing keys to their vehicles, medications that were lost, and covering lodging until a more perminate housing plan can be figured out. We appreciate all those who helped in the early morning hours when the family was scared and had no idea what to do next. From the neighbors that provided shoes and water to the fire department and even the lady who made burritos for the family. We are absolutely grateful for this community that's shown its support.
