LS Lowry commemorative garden
Donation protected
To commemorate the famous works of LS Lowry, we are creating a special garden at the front of his house in Pendlebury where he lived for 40 years and painted all the local industrial scenes. We aim to recreate his image in bronze as shown in the attached photograph of him stood at the top of the hill in Pendlebury. It is the intention to use a local company to landscape the garden which will be open at all times to the interested public. We would like to create a large mural of the terraced houses painted along the right hand wall. Any ideas and contributions are welcome. Local artists and gardeners who would like to be involved, please feel free to contact us with your ideas. The bronze, life sized statue will be the predominant feature of the garden, standing next to the bay window, below the new plaque making a fantastic photo souvenir for Lowry fans and visitors to the locality.
