Please help our teammates, the staff members of Lutheran Services Carolinas, who have lost their homes, experienced damage to their homes, or experienced other significant losses as the result of Hurricane Florence.
Because of these staff members, working endless hours without concern for their own comfort, our clients and residents weathered the hurricane without incident. These staff members kept them safe from the storm.
But now we have learned that many of our coworkers have lost their homes or have experienced overwhelming losses as the result of the hurricane. In Wilmington, N.C., while workers cared for the frail seniors of Trinity Grove, their homes were being ravaged by the winds and rains of Florence. Along the east coast, in the Lumberton and Fayetteville areas, some of our disaster case managers who had been helping the survivors of Hurricane Matthew, are now survivors of Hurricane Florence.
We are in awe of the heroic efforts of our staff members and we hurt for those whose homes were destroyed while they unselfishly served others.
Can you help?
Do it to honor the direct care workers and other employees of LSC. Perhaps they cared for your parents or grandparents, helped you adopt a child, or helped you or a loved one on the brink of homelessness. Take this moment to make even a small gift to a fund to help workers like the ones who helped you.
If you work for LSC, help your teammates who suffered major losses at home from Hurricane Florence while caring for our residents/clients.
In Wilmington and along the east coast the waters continue to rise. Our staff have grown exhausted and now some face the grim reality that they may have nowhere to rest.
They need your help now. Make your gift today.
