Help Tom Get a Kidney
Donation protected
Tom Baxter age 20, was diagnosed with FSGS in January 2012. In need of a kidney transplant his family began to search high and low for a donor willing to give a kidney.
In 2013, after meeting Tom, his daughter Zoey, and his mother Teresa, my mother (Meg) made the decision to be that donor. Throughout the following months, Tom and Meg made many trips to the hospital. Tom to recieve life sustaining treatments and surgeries, Meg to get the needed tests to determine her ability to donate.
Over the past two years, meeting Tom, Teresa, and Zoey, making multiple drives to Seattle with my mother for various tests and getting multiple boughts of bad news I began to see why this donation needed to happen.
Last week both families recieved they call they had been waiting on: "We are moving forward with the surgery." As the nerves have began to race and the planning begins one thing continues to ring true. Tom deserves this kidney.
This fund has been created to gather donations to assist with medical/living expenses not covered by the Transplant team as both Meg and Tom's families will be temporarily relocating to Seattle to assist in their recovery.
Any donation is welcomed and appreciated to help both families on their journey to recovery. God Bless
