Luana's campaign for EARTHWORKS & IQM

Tax deductible
This quilt was made for the 2016 exhibit "Water is Life" which premiered at the United Nations in Geneva Switzerland. It has traveled around the world to tell the story of 'Rocky Mountain Poison' - when the Gold King Mine spill turned the Animas River orange with toxins - and sickened communities downstream.

Then my daughter was poisoned by VOCs (fracking byproducts - benzene styrene and toluene) in her public school, and Earthworks.org helped our community to identify what was happening. I never could have figured out that she needed to be tested for VOC exposure on my own.  They educated us so we had the strength and courage to go after those who were poisoning our children and covering up the truth.

After this story quilt traveled for 3 years, seen by thousands of people in many venues around the world, I offered to sell this art quilt to benefit Earthworks...as a thank you for the work they do.

The original idea of a fundraiser auction began to grow into a larger dream when the International Quilt Museum (IQM) in Lincoln NE asked to acquire the quilt!...Your generosity in making this dream come to fruition is greatly appreciated by Earthworks, the IQM and our family.

This quilt is being donated by artist Luana Rubin to raise money for Earthworks.org, then they will donate the quilt to the International Quilt Museum, who will steward this historic work of art for future generations.

Thank you for supporting my efforts to protect the Earth and her future generations of children, by supporting Earthworks, and the acquisition of 'Rocky Mountain Poison' for IQM.  Now I know my art quilt will continue to tell this important story long after I am gone.
