The family of Luc Gonzalez

Lucrecio L. Gonzalez, age 47, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on March 24, 2024. He was born December 19, 1976 in Mexico and was adopted by his loving parents, Lucrecio Gonzalez and Gloria Cantu.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Visitation will continue from 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am, Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Michael J. Murschel will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1001 Villa Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Final arrangements entrusted to Symonds-Madison Funeral Home.

Hi, my name is Barbara and I am fundraising for my niece, Michele, and her husband Luc. Two years ago, at the age of 45, Luc was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. As Luc began dialysis he continued to work. Unfortunately, that changed on November 29, 2023 when he was admitted to the hospital with multiple complications. Recently he was moved to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford where they are trying to wean him off a ventilator and feeding tube.

Michele is working full time, managing the household, and handling the ever growing demands of consultations with doctors and nurses. Their resources are running low and Luc needs Michele even more. Needless to say, this is a scary time for the family. Michele and Luc have 3 sons. Their middle son attends SIU Edwardsville and their youngest son is a junior at Belvidere High School. The situation is dire.

Luc is a proud member of the Freemasons Belvidere Lodge #60. He has spent time as a volunteer firefighter, as well as leading a local youth group. He has been there for his community and now he could use your support.
