Lucas Crutchfield (Baseball Accident)

Hi guys! I’m Sharron Ross. I’ve been praying God will guide me and show me ways to help out my nephew and his family. Right now, they need our prayers and support more than ever!
Here’s what had been going on in Lucas’ life recently. On March 23, 2023, Lucas Crutchfield, my 15-year-old nephew, was involved in a baseball accident at school. Lucas was hit with a hard-hit ball that took a bad hop/hit to a rock and bounced up and hit him in the left temple. Since then, Lucas has had two emergency room visits, two CT scans, one MRI, and is going to his fifth specialist in Richmond, VA. Lucas has suffered a concussion/traumatic brain injury with severe amnesia. Looking at Lucas, he looks perfectly well. It’s when you start talking to him, you realize his cognitive ability is not what it should be. Thankfully, he still has a sense of humor!
He does not know many people, and he has short and long-term memory loss. Simple things we all take for granted, he does not know or know how to do it. He also has constant headaches, vision issues, hearing loss, and some cognitive deficiencies. Seeing him go through this is simply heartbreaking.
Lucas is currently unable to stay alone, go to school, or receive homebound instruction. He has a long road to recovery where he will need several different types of therapies. This accident will be a costly expense for the family in the months and possibly year(s) ahead.
Lucas is very athletic and loves being outdoors. He loves playing baseball, especially at Parker Park. You would always see him with a smile on his face and that uniform on ready to play! He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and working outside. He is unable to do anything except fish.
Lucas is the son of Ryan and Crystal Crutchfield and has two brothers, Tyler and Mason. These funds will be used to help with medical expenses, therapies, travel expenses, and support for Lucas for the upcoming months and down this long recovery road. Any amount will help this family.
Most off all, thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. Our God will heal him COMPLETELY!
“So if you are suffering according to God’s will, keep on doing what is right, and trust yourself to the God who made you, for He will never fail you.” 1 Peter 4:19
