Lucas “Luke” Bates, IBEW Local 82, Dayton

This is Luke Bates. He’s a Journeyman out of Local 82 of the IBEW. He is currently fighting for life in ICU. He was recently diagnosed with Brain Cancer, and during a pre-op procedure, had a sudden, unexpected brain bleed. He went into emergency surgery, and they were able to stop the bleed and remove at least some of the cancer. He is still heavily sedated, and appears to have a long road ahead of him, as far as recovery is concerned.

Luke is the sole provider for a family of 6, and will be off work for the foreseeable future.

Luke is a true “Stand Up” brother who always fights to better conditions on the job, and would give the shirt off his back for any of us.

Of course, Luke has no idea that any of this is going on. Last he knew, he was going in for a fairly routine procedure.
