Hi everyone, my name is Shelby. I have decided to start this go fund me for dear family friends of mine. If you could just take a few minutes to read their story and share it as much as possible, it would be greatly appreciated.

As some of you may know, tragedy struck early Monday morning at 4am December 2nd in our quiet little town of Swan Hills when a house exploded. Directly beside this home lives my friends Lucas McNeil and Mikayla Martel. I have known Lucas all my life and Mikayla since she was a young girl. It absolutely pains me to see such hard working, kind hearted people to go through this tragedy.

They recently just purchased this house (which happens to be Lucas’s childhood home) and were just starting their life together in it.

They can no longer live in their home due the severe interior and exterior damage from this explosion, with no timeline of when they will be able to go back. Unfortunately insurance will not be covering this and as the home owners house that exploded did not have insurance, this will all be coming mostly from Lucas and Mikaylas pockets. They now need as much help from us as possible. This will also help with the income loss while they are recovering emotionally and physically from the concussions they got from the blast. Being in such close proximity to the blast, which was within 50 feet from their exterior bedroom wall where they were sleeping.

This couldn’t have happened at a worse time with the holidays right around the corner along with the dropping temperatures. But I’m hoping with help from our community, friends and family we can help lighten the stress even just a little bit.

100% of all donations will be going straight to Lucas and Mikayla.
