Lucas Taylor Bull rider to represent AUS in USA

Hi, my name is Lucas Taylor. I’m 15 years old, I live in a small town in south east QLD called Rosewood.

I have been selected to represent Australia at the Yeti Junior World final in Las Vegas USA December 6th - 11th 2023.

A little bit about my career so far.

I’ve been riding bulls since 2017 and began my first rodeo season in 2018.

My first year of rodeo got me back into the top 12 for the National Rodeo association finals sitting 4th. I knew then that rodeo was my passion.

2019 was a good year for me, placed at most rodeos. I headed up to calliope for their annual rodeo in September and got stood on real bad, I had several stitches and was to have a few weeks off, the injury ended up not healing as quickly as I had hoped which put me out for nearly 2 months, I got cleared to ride again just 2 weeks prior to the NRA rodeo finals. I held my spot and made it back into the finals coming into the finals sitting 4th in the standings. I gave it my all and ended up 2019 Finals Aggregate Champion in the poddy ride.

2022 has been my best year so far, I was able to step up half way through the season riding in the mini bull ride and in the junior bull ride as well.

I come into the rodeo finals 3rd position in the U15 mini bulls and 2nd position in the U18 Jnr bulls.

That season I finish off U15 Mini bull riding champion, U15 Mini bull rider Finals Aggregate Champion and U18 Junior Bull rider runner up champion.

In 2023 I’m currently leading the NRA Jnr rodeo title and sitting 4th in the Novice Bullride. I am also sitting 2nd in both the Junior and Novice for the Bullpit Bullriding series.

I have opened a go fund me page to help with travel expenses and entry fee’s

Traveling to the USA would be a huge opportunity for me to show my skills at a higher level and give me the experience I’ve dreamed about my whole life.

I hope that one day I can ride at the “Daddy of them all” Cheyenne Frontier days and make it all the way to the top.
