Lucia's Top Surgery & Recovery Fundraiser

Donation protected
8/28 UPDATE FROM LUCIA:

It finally happened! After two years of actively working to make this happen, I finally underwent top surgery on Thursday, August 17th.

Many thanks to my surgeon, Dr. Sean McNally, who was wonderful every step of the way. Currently, I am 10 days post-op. This last Friday, 8/25 was my first post-op appt when I finally got to see the results - aka the big reveal. So far, healing is going as well as one can expect. While there has been quite a bit of pain and discomfort since coming home from surgery, this has been curbed by the generosity of those who have dropped off meals, come over to keep me company, and contributed additional resources. As of now, I will remain homebound for the next couple of weeks with very limited movement and activity.

Thanks to contributions via the benefit show at Holocene on 8/7 and funds raised so far via this GoFundMe, I was able to cover all the medical garments and items I needed to purchase for my aftercare. The remaining funds raised from here on out will go towards upcoming rent and bills for September and October. Due to the nature of my job, I will be out of work for two months which means I will not have any form of income until mid-October. I would appreciate any and all contributions during this time.

ORIGINAL POST:

Hey all! This is a fundraiser for our dear friend and confidant, Lucia Luna's long-awaited (!) top surgery and recovery.
Lucia is going in for surgery on August 17th and will be out of work for 2-3 months. This plus medical bills, items needed to recover from surgery, and bills accumulating during this time, is why we're asking for your help. If you're able, please donate to the cause, boo. <3
Additionally, there's a benefit show on August 7th at Holocene @ 8 PM, link here:

From Holocene:
Holocene and friends will be hosting a benefit show for Lucia Luna’s upcoming top surgery. Lucia is a local trans nonbinary electronic / darkwave artist who has been performing in Portland over the last 10+ years. This special event will feature a collective of LGBTQIA+ musicians and performers... The evening is dedicated to celebrating trans joy and community while highlighting the music, art and works of local queer talent.

*A portion of these funds will also be donated to trans women of color who are in need within our community.
