My name is Neyda Monter Casio and I am writing on behalf of my mother. This past month, my uncle, and her brother, Lucio Casio Lopez, suffered a devastating fall while working on a roof at a construction site and was left in a coma. Last night, on October 23, he passed away, leaving us with an empty space in our hearts. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for our family, especially for his children.
Lucio, like so many immigrants who come to the United States seeking a better life, worked tirelessly to provide for his family. As a single father, he faced many challenges but always persevered, fueled by his deep love for his sons. Lucio was a man of quiet strength, working until his final moments to support and create new opportunities for his children. Unfortunately, Lucio’s dream of offering a more promising future for his family came at a steep cost.
Lucio leaves behind two young children, and they need all the help they can get in this time of loss. In addition to the emotional toll, his passing has left our family with unexpected financial burdens, including medical expenses, funeral costs, and the hope of returning him to Mexico for burial in his homeland. Any contribution will go directly toward supporting his children and covering these expenses, as we honor Lucio’s memory and his unwavering dedication to his family.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this painful time.
