Hardworking Mother of 5, and grandmother of 2 is in desperate need of the power of prayer, and help in any form. Two of her five children live in the home. Jaden age 12, and Nathan age 6 are her adopted grandchildren. Bills are piling up, income has been lost, and disability/insurance will be gone as of December. Doctors say she will have a permanent disability, and will likely not be able to return to work as the meat department manager at King Soopers Bergen park. Lori is the rock of our family, she has been the working parent for the last 17 years. Our father Rick fell and got a severe traumatic brain injury 17 years ago, and has been recovering from that fall ever since. Rick also can’t go back to work. Thank goodness he’s an incredible caretaker. Lori had surgery on June 27th 2018 for a CMC arthroplasty tendon transfer. Something was off from the moment she woke up. What was suppose to be an outpatient surgery, with a quick recovery, has turned into a complete nightmare. At her first post op appointment they realized her cast had been put on incorrectly. At this point, we still had hope that mom was going to heal properly. They kept telling her to just “try harder” to move her arm. As many of you know Lori is extremely strong both physically and mentally. It’s devastating to watch her stare at her hand with pure frustration. It won’t budge. She has been diagnosed with severe complex regional pain syndrome, and Dystonia in her hand and arm. Click here for more info on CRPS Fast forward to September 14th... Lori falls and breaks her leg. The bone hasn’t shifted, also hasn’t healed due to the steroid shots that are suppose to be helping her arm. They can’t put her in a cast since she’s unable to use crutches. Prognosis for the leg is months in a walking boot. The likelihood that she will heal from complex regional pain syndrome is slim. Lori has contacted a few malpractice attorneys, but nothing can happen until we see how this all plays out. Hope we wake up from this horrible nightmare soon, the reality of Lori’s new life is hard to swallow. Reaching out for help isn’t easy, to be honest we hate it. Lori has spent her life doing everything for everyone else. Now it’s our turn to help take care of her. I am also excepting funds via Venmo @Carissa-Lyle or cash/check. Thank you for taking the time to read my beautiful mothers story.
