Lucy at Triple Moon Equestrian

Lucy is everyone's favorite pony. Hundreds of small children have learned to safely handle and ride with Lucy's guidance. She is 34 years old and helped raise several children to adulthood before coming to us.

Despite her managed cushion disease and age, she is still going strong, running and bucking and living her best old lady life. People are astonished at how amazing she looks for being 34.

She almost lost her battle last year to a massive colic and surprised us all by surviving it. However, a couple days ago, unexpectedly, she colicked again. Our hearts sank knowing that last year's survival was lucky...would she be lucky again? For 2 days she suffered with excruciating pain and fatigue. Our vet was called and he treated her with hopes she'd pull through. After treatment, she stood in one spot for 8 hours and like a 2nd miracle, she passed manure and perked up like nothing happened.

Lucy is so special to many here at Triple Moon Equestrian. Adults and children alike benefit from her kind, slow and peaceful teaching. She even went viral on the internet 3 times and has fans all over the world.

Triple Moon Equestrian is a non-profit organization who's mission is to teach the way of the horse to all walks of life willing to learn. Horses and ponies, like Lucy, that reside at Triple Moon are our gentle professors. Most of the horses here on the farm are rescues. Lucy is not a rescue. She came to us from our farrier needing to "retire". Lucy wasn't having any of this retirement we spoke of. Instead she became our perfect little horse to start littles and nervous students with for years to come. She has given us everything she has in her little stout body. We would like to continue to give her the best care in the world both mentally and physically. She deserves it.

Our organization is still paying on last year's colic hospital bill and now we have the added current vet bill. She needs costly medication each day for the rest of her life and needs special feed to help her heal her old belly.

Many children (and adults!) would appreciate your support to help Lucy stay comfortable and healthy in her elderly years. She still has so much to teach! We send a thousand thanks to all of you that have Lucy in your heart!
