Supporting Lucy Cruz as she battles uterine cancer

UPDATE: Lucy has started her Chemo treatments. She will be starting round 2 next week. Lucy has worked so hard taking care of others and really needs help as she battles cancer. Please consider donating or reaching out to help in other ways.

Hello, my name is Heather McMinn and I am asking for help on behalf of Lucy Cruz. Lucy is a long time nanny, teacher and caregiver. She has been working with families in Austin for over 15 years. Our family first met "Ms. Lucy" when she was working as a teacher at St. John Neumann in 2018 and since that time she has continued to care for and support several families in the area. In July, after not feeling well for some time, Lucy found herself in the ER battling fluid in her lungs. Subsequent testing and numerous Doctor visits led to the discovery that she had Stage 4 Uterine Cancer. Lucy has worked hard her entire life caring for other families, driving for Uber, and teaching. Over the years, Lucy has dedicated a lot of what she has earned to her relatives in Honduras.

We are asking for donations to assist her with expenses and medical bills as she begins her first round of chemo next week.
