Darling Lucy, known widely among her fans as Lucybug and Lucy the Warrior, is in a fight against bilateral hereditary retinoblastoma, a diagnosis she received at just 8 weeks. So many of you follow the heartfelt updates on the Julia Jane Studios blog and instagram from her parents Julia and Mike Gargano and have been cheering her on, praying for her and sending your love and support but here's what they would absolutely never tell you:

1) that Lucy's chemotherapy injections cost $3,000 each, and insurance doesn't cover them.
2) that a week that looks like this—Tuesday blood draw, Wednesday exam under anesthesia with chemo injections, Thursday intra arterial chemotherapy, Friday nuelasta shot with a side of transfusion--is really, really expensive.
3) that every time they travel from CT down to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, they incur $350 or more in daily expenses, and sometimes they are there for a week. They can't stay with friends because of Lucy's immune system, and they must stay at the closest possible hotel because of possible complications to treatment. Add to that round trip gas, tolls, food, time out of work... it's a big price tag.

Here's another thing they would NEVER say, but their friends can and here we are saying it for them:

Would you consider joining the many that love them to lighten their financial burden just a bit? Our dollars pooled together can mean more of their energy directed at supporting their beautiful girl and a little less of their energy worrying about the bottom line.

Maybe we can cover a hotel stay, or a round trip of gas and tolls. Maybe we can cover four of them. Maybe we can even cover one of those necessary chemotherapy injections that she so bravely withstands. Will you consider helping, friends?
