Volunteering mental health support overseas

Donation protected
Every day thousands of children across the world are diagnosed with cancer. Many of these children will face treatment which will cause their hair to fall out.
The Little Princess Trust is an organisation which makes wigs out of human hair for young boys and girls going through cancer treatment to wear in order to make them feel more themselves.
In July 2019 I am going to cut my hair to donate to the trust in order to make a wig. This donation will only affect one person but I am making it a sponsored event as I am looking to help change the lives of many more children in the underdeveloped country of Bali.

Here I will be fortunate enough to have been given a unique opportunity by a global charity (SLV.Global) to gain professional work experience in the field of psychology. I will spend 4- weeks in Bali volunteering to work with children with mental health needs in communities alongside mental health professionals to develop my understanding of what difficulties face these children every day. I will be working on various challenging projects in diverse communities and will be engaged in different projects including; mental health therapy, youth teaching, children's teaching and special needs projects.

In Bali mental health is very misunderstood and volunteering here  would allow me to help improve the lives of those living with these issues, whilst furthering my development to be able to support more children in the future.
I have a goal of one day becoming a clinical psychologist specialising in child mental health and specific needs. I am passionate about mental health care and want to work to help save children every day starting from now.
This placement will give me hands-on work experience as my first step towards this goal.

To find out more about my projects feel free to get in contact and ask any questions! Or you can visit:
